Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

At one of their concerts you are actually inside of the music! They make sure that there are speakers behind you on both sides of you and in front of you and their special effects, lights and sound system could power a medium-sized City!!! They basically put you in an arena and turn it into a giant set of headphones and I guarantee you the sound is amazing and perfectly clear because I've seen them live four times in three different decades! You are literally swallowed up by the music!!

Great reaction! The cover is a snapshot of a musician making a deal with a record company and getting burned in the deal, which is why he's on fire. That was shot in real life, not photoshop to add the flames back then. The stuntman was fitted with a suit doused in oil and insulated with a fire retardant material. Crazy stuff.

@@ShawnSalvadori If you do a Google search for: (Ronnie Rondell and Danny Rogers), you'll easily find more shots of these stuntmen when this photo was taken. The photograph of the man on fire was taken at Warner Studios in Hollywood. The photographer Aubrey Powell had planned several shots but a strong wind will compromise his plans, bringing the flames down on the face of the stuntman, who will refuse to take other shots.

Don't forget "Animals" which came after "Wish You Were Here"! It's many people's favorite Pink Floyd album, including mine...although it does depend on my mood. There's no question that it's an absolutely amazing album though, featuring what is probably David gilmour's best-ever guitar work.

BTW the very last few notes played by Richard are a riff from one of Syds most popular tracks "See Emily Play"

Actually Rodger Waters was with them from conception before they were even Pink Floyd they were calling themselves "the tea set" and at one time wanted to call themselves Megadeth! But Syd Barrett name them Pink Floyd after Pink Anderson and Floyd Council two blues musicians! So their commercial success was from Dark Side of the Moon, then Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and last but least although there are a few good songs on their last album with Rodger "The Final Cut"! Also, when you finally get to Animals from which you might be floored. It's their most angry album and their highest achievement in musical ability!!! It's loosely based on George Orwell's animal farm!! And the last few notes from SOYCD is an omage to Syd Barrett and one of his songs I think it was from Syd Barrett's song Bike but if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me but the last few notes in SOYCD are from a Syd Barrett song!

Quick comment on the images used for this album: when this LP was originally issued the vinyl record was kept in an inner sleeve. The inner sleeve was kept in an outer sleeve. Each side of each sleeve had a theme. As I recall... Outer sleeve - front: FIRE (note - edge of picture burnt) Outer sleeve - back: EARTH (note - sand trickling from rent below the picture) Inner Sleeve - front: AIR (note - wavey edges to the picture) Inner sleeve - back: WATER (note - water pouring from a hole below the picture)

I had never made the connection with the 4 elements: fire, earth, air and water, interesting. I had noticed that the theme of ABSENCE is not only present in the lyrics of the album. Even the pictures included in the album sleeve describe the ABSENCE: - THE ABSENCE of pain / emotion / humanity from the burning man. - THE ABSENCE (partly invisible man) of the man with the briefcase in the desert. - THE ABSENCE of water for the man swimming in the sand. - THE ABSENCE of splashing and rippling from the man diving into the lake. - THE ABSENCE of somebody, the veil that floats without anyone wearing it. - THE ABSENCE of humanity in the two cybernetic hands, (handshake).

Another vote for Animals. My 3 favorite all time albums are Dark Side, WYWH and Animals. All 3 masterpieces from start to finish, and which one I listen to is based on mood. The Wall is marvelously produced and has some outstanding tracks, but for me doesn't have the emotional/spiritual impact of the previous three. Too much Roger, not enough Floyd...

I respect your desire to react to the studio version, if you haven't heard it previously. I was at the Pulse Concert in 1995 in Foxboro MA. When you finish your studios, the pulse versions will blow you away. I had always loved Comfortable Numb from the Wall, but as you'll see in pulse, it is one of the best live rendition of all time. I was blown away by Gilmore's solo, at the end. We all needed the final concert rendition of 'Run LIke Hell', just to come down so we could all leave the concert in a lower emotional state, than the end of CN. The blockbusters, chronologically begin with Meddle, containing Echose, but you'll appreciate how much better the Pompeii version was. After Meddle you get DSOTM, one of the greatest 'albums' (I'm showing my age, 74) of all time, followed by the dedication to Syd in WYWH. Before you get to 'The Wall' (Roger's masterpiece), there's one more concept album, which matches the others in quality. It's titled, 'Animals', which Roger wrote, and contains a lot of metaphors to, Orwell's, Amimal Farm. Prior to pulse, I did see them in Foxboro in 1990, for their, 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' tour, written by David Gilmore, since Roger left after 'The Wall'. Hope some of this info was interesting. I love watching you new younger guys, remark on what music meant to us in the 60's and 70's. I do enjoy some of the newer music, but at my age I'm having a tough time with Rap. (lol) Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this post, I definitely appreciated it. I can't wait to get to the entire pulse concert, its a moment I've been waiting for lol. I didn't know before where Animals fit into the scheme of things, but I do now and I'll work my way around to that one as well 😁

Yes, he was the creative force of pink floyd through The Wall 1979, then The Final Cut 1983 (this is officially a Pink Floyd Album, but is all Roger and just a lttle bit of David Gilmour), but roger had seized such control of the band by then that pink floyd was becoming a roger waters solo project... albums without Roger are... A Momentary Lapse of Reason 1987... The Division Bell 1994..The Endless River 2014...

Here is an interesting coincidence. Syd Barrett's real name was Roger he came up with the name Syd, spelled with a 'Y', out of the blue supposedly. But if you take those initials SYD, they can spell out Shine-on You Diamond. Crazy came a little later. But, he did wear out his welcome with well known precision. So how much is mad genius, how much is crazy and how much is drugs? One of Syd's first songs is "See Emily Play". The last five notes of "Shine On..." ends with a musical phrase from "See Emily Play". "High Hopes" the last song on the Division Bell album ends with the lines, "The endless river forever and ever." also taken from "See Emily Play", the lines, "Float on a river forever and ever." The Floyd's very last studio album is The Endless River. Finally, this bit of trivia. David Gilmour was invited to the recording of "See Emily Play" in May 1967 at Abbey Road by Syd Barrett.

The main character who is the subject of The Wall is Mr "Pink" Floyd 🤣 The album cover seems to show someone dressed like a music Exec but normal opposite a burning version of himself. That was all keyboard trailing off at the end... no trumpet, no sax, just keyboard. Roger Waters is the co-founder of Pink Floyd and was with them from its inception to 1985 which would include nearly their entire catalog save for the last two albums of 1987, and 1994. The most classic album period of Floyd is from Meddle 1972 through The Wall 1979. Also, you keep leaving out "Animals" 1977 when listing their biggest albums. Animals came right after this one and before The Wall. It is considered by many Floydians their best album. Can't leave that one out. Roger's last album with Pink Floyd was 1983's "The Final Cut". You'll never see Pink Floyd performing anything from that album as they had become pretty much estranged from him at that point. They just let him do his thing and leave. I like the album but it is very dark and very personal to Roger... however Gilmour still manages to get in a few killer guitar solos, and he does sing on one track "Not Now John". Songs from 'The Final Cut' get virtually no airplay on classic rock radio.

@@llanitedave IDK, Richard Wright's synth and hammond creates some remarkable textural sounds throughout the album. The extent to which he himself composed them (or Roger's refusal to give him credit for whatever reason), isn't all that relevant in my view. His synthesized dog sounds during parts of "Dogs" is amazing.
