Yah! It wasn't a David Gilmour solo album as some people say. It was a Pink Floyd album.

My Brother and my Ex both would visit me in the hospital in 2020 and play PF. That was their only idea to get me out of a coma. Spent more than a month like that. I don't speak for others but when I was in a coma, I thought I was still living life. It all felt so real. When I did wake, I thought that everything that took place in my coma actually happened. The music they played sent me back into vivid memories of what I did in my past while listening to pf with friends. When i did wake up, not one person told me what happened because they didnt want me to panic. But my ex came up when she heard i was awake and told me everything. It hurt to remember that my mom died 2 months before I almost did and had to remember that all over again after spending time with her in my coma, thinking she was still alive. I tried so hard to speak to her. I had so many questions but I couldn't say a single word because I was still on life support with tubes down my throat. In a way, Pink Floyd helped save my life. What more could I possibly ask for out of a band...

Oh that must be so confusing, I hope your recovering well and hope you are starting to tell the difference or know these things didn't happen, I had seizures and that would leave me memory less of it but a coma I thought would have been similar, but No,

I wiii be 70 in a month or so, and I have to Thank my Son for introducing me to Pink Floyd, and listening to this album is helping me through a heart full of grief at the passing of my beautiful sister, a few weeks ago and strangely the song Coming Back to life is my song of choice, it causes the tears to flow, and i can see my sister heading into the shining sun.
@ridefast0

Sorry to hear your story, I lost my little sister to cancer a few years ago and I looked after her at the end. I now imagine walking backwards into the future with the pictures of events getting smaller as time passes - at some point a particular event will 'shrink' until it stops dominating your thoughts and hopefully you can get on with making the most of your own remaining time. The song that always makes my eyes leak is Genesis song 'undertow', it asks what you would do if this was the last day of your life and now at 65 it makes me regret all the time I have wasted.

This album always transports me back to the summer of 1995. I was 10 and didn't know anything about Pink Floyd (i was in my Eagles phase). My dad bought Pulse the week it came out and I was hooked. A few weeks later i was at a summer day camp. Dad liked what he hears of the Divison Bell songs on Pulse and bought it. We listened to it every day driving to camp and regularly the entire summer. We listened to it again a few days ago (28 years later while doing some work around the house). I live 8 hours away and only see my parents two or three times a year. As always, the album produced great feeling vibes. It's not classic Floyd, but its great and chocked full of incredible memories for me.

Growing up in Europe and hanging out with hippies listening to Pink Floyd , Zeppelin, America , and so on. I collect everything Floyd. Being a Black man shocked and brought tears to my eyes when my 8th grade granddaughter let everyone know that Pink Floyd is her favorite group. I would take them to work with me when the two of them were 4 and 2 years old and all I would listen to was Pink Floyd. I can die a j happy man now!🤙

The evolution of Pink Floyd isn't meant to be picked apart by purists. It's all fabulous, and deserves an open ear ... from the beginning til now. It's just the cycle of life and should be appreciated as is. They ALL contributed a wealth of talent. Don't cheat yourself with past notions ... you will only lose the most meaningful music of our generation.

100% agree. I was at this concert at the Oakland Coliseum in 1994. I've been to many PF concerts but this one was by far the most moving and memorable. A total musical journey with every song played. They mixed it up BEAUTIFULLY with songs from Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals and Division Bell. The laser light show at that time was incredible! Music is the language of the soul and PF hits the target everytime.

CLUSTER ONE FIRST TRACK IS (INSTRUMENTAL) 00:02 WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME LYRICS PLUS ALL THE REST LYRICS 05:59 As you look around this room tonight Settle in your seat and dim the lights Do you want my blood do you want my tears What do you want? What do you want from me? Should I sing until I can't sing any more Play these strings until my fingers are raw Ah ah ah You're so hard to please What do you want from me? Do you think I know something you don't know (What do you want from me?) If I don't promise you the answers would you go (What do you want from me?) Should I stand out in the rain Do you want me to make a daisy chain for you Ah ah ah I'm not the one you need What do you want from me You can have anything you want You can drift, you can dream, even walk on water Anything you want You can own everything you see Sell your soul for complete control Is that really what you need? You can lose yourself this night See inside there is nothing to hide Turn and face the light Ah ah ah, ah ah ah What do you want from me POLES APART 10:20 Did you know It was all going to go, so wrong for you? And did you see It was all going to be so right for me? Why did we tell you then You were always the golden boy then? And that you'd never lose that light in your eyes Hey you Did you ever realize what you'd become? And did you see That it wasn't only me you were running from? Did you know all the time but it Never bothered you anyway? Leading the blind while I stared out the steel in your eyes The rain fell slow Down on all the roofs of uncertainty I thought of you And the years and all the sadness Fell away from me And did you know? I never thought that you'd lose that light in your eyes MAROONED (INSTRUMENTAL) 17:25 A GREAT DAY FOR FREEDOM 22:54 On the day the wall came down They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high We raised a cry for freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night Like paper doves in flight I dreamed you had left my side No warmth, not even pride remained And even though you needed me It was clear that I could not do a thing for you Now life devalues day by day As friends and neighbours turn away And there's a change that even with regret Cannot be undone Now frontiers shift like desert sands While nations wash their bloodied hands Of loyalty, of history In shades of grey I woke to the sound of drums The music played, the morning sun streamed in I turned and I looked at you And all but the bitter residues slipped away Slipped away WEARING THE INSIDE OUT 27:12 From morning to night, I stayed out of sight Didn't recognize I'd become No more than alive, I'd barely survive In a word overrun Won't hear a sound (he's curled into the corner) From my mouth (but still the screen is flickering) I've spent too long (with an endless stream of garbage) On the inside out (curse the place) My skin is cold (in a sea of random images) To the human touch (the self-destructing animal) This bleeding heart's (waiting for the waves) Not beating much (to break) I murmured a vow of silence and now I don't even hear when I think aloud Extinguished by light, I turn on the night Wear its darkness with an empty smile I'm creeping back to life My nervous system all awry I'm wearing the inside out Look at him now He's paler somehow But he's coming round He's starting to choke It's been so long since he spoke Well, he can have the words right from my mouth And with these words, I can see Clear through the clouds that covered me Just give it time then speak my name Now we can hear ourselves again I'm holding out (he's standing on the threshold) For the day (caught in fiery anger) When all the clouds (and hurled into the furnace) Have blown away (he'll curse the place) I'm with you now (he's torn in all directions) Can speak your name (and still the screen is flickering) Now we can hear (waiting for the flames) Ourselves again (to break) TAKE IT BACK 34:01 Her love rains down on me easy as the breeze I listen to her breathing, it sounds like the waves on the sea I was thinking all about her burning with rage and desire We were spinning into darkness, the earth was on fire She could take it back, she might take it back someday So I spy on her, I lied to her, I made promises I cannot keep Then I hear her laughter rising, rising from the deep And I make her prove her love for me, I take all that I can take And I push her to the limit to see if she will break She might take it back, she could take it back some day Now I have seen the warnings, screaming from all sides It's easy to ignore them, God knows I've tried All of this temptation, ya know it turned my faith to lies Until I couldn't see the danger or hear the rising tide She can take it back, she will take it back some day She can take it back, she will take it back some day She will take it back, she will take it back some day COMING BACK TO LIFE 40:15 Where were you when I was burned and broken? While the days slipped by from my window watching And where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless? 'Cause the things you say and the things you do surround me While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words Dying to believe in what you heard I was staring straight into the shining sun Lost in thought and lost in time While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted Outside, the rain fell dark and slow While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the moment had arrived For killing the past and coming back to life I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the waiting had begun And headed straight into the shining sun KEEP TALKING 46:33 There's a silence surrounding me I can't seem to think straight I sit in the corner And no one can bother me I think I should speak now (why won't you talk to me?) I can't seem to speak now (you never talk to me) My words won't come out right (what are you thinking?) I feel like I'm drowning (what are you feeling?) I'm feeling weak now (why won't you talk to me?) But I can't show my weakness (you never talk to me) I sometimes wonder (what are you thinking?) Where do we go from here (what are you feeling?) I feel like I'm drowning (You never talk to me) you know I can't breathe now (What are you thinking?) We're going nowhere (What are you feeling?) We're going nowhere (Why won't you talk to me?) (You never talk to me) (What are you thinking?) (Where do we go from here?) LOST FOR WORDS 52:45 I was spending my time in the doldrums I was caught in the cauldron of hate I felt persecuted and paralyzed I thought that everything else would just wait While you are wasting your time on your enemies Engulfed in a fever of spite Beyond your tunnel vision reality fades Like shadows into the night To martyr yourself to caution Is not going to help at all Because there'll be no safety in numbers When the Right One walks out of the door Can you see your days blighted by darkness? Is it true you beat your fists on the floor? Stuck in a world of isolation While the ivy grows over the door So I open my door to my enemies And I ask could we wipe the slate clean But they tell me to please go fuck myself You know you just can't win HIGH HOPES 58:00 Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway Do they still meet there by the Cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before times took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter When friends surrounded The nights of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

Just heard the album thanks 🙏. Last song especially reminds me going at 220 mph to Puerto Banus Marbella in the 80’s .. never seen the tape again but I am still alive so thank you so much for the memories 🙏🙏🙏😁👋👋👋

Whilst very good. I think the opening of Shine on or Echoes, even Breathe from Dark Side are better.

@@PercyPruneMHDOIFandBars that's the only problem with Floyd it's impossible to pick a fav they have so many classics they're probably my favourite from the album and even at that it's virtually impossible to pick a fav from any of they're albums even the early psychedelic stuff although I prefer to listen to the stuff from after David Gilmour joined I was only born in 79 and I was 90s boy but I was lucky enough to be friends with my older brother and most of my friends are older but I thank God for the music they steered me towards not that it was hard once you have listened to Floyd if you are not instantly a fan you obviously don't appreciate the genius of the music they have made over the decades it's Timeless and the proof (if any was needed) is the fact that even people who were not even born whilst Floyd were performing the world over become fans I only wish I was born earlier the generation of ppl who grew up with Floyd and so many other class music they were spoiled for choice lol I could talk about it forever as I have proven with the length of the reply 🤣🤣🤣
