Richard was the core for Floyd in my opinion. You got Waters with the lyrics and David with the guitar and Mason with the drums I mean all of them are just as important but Richard had the most important part in my opinion.

My favourite PF songs were all written by "Rick"
@Octavio123410003 жыл бұрын
Rick what? He was the keyboard player? Can you recommend some of his work?
@baTonkaTruck3 жыл бұрын
@@Jok3er271 I agree, he was the musical core. The compositional richness that set Pink Floyd apart from the rest of rock/prog/pop bands of that time, that was Rick Wright. Now couple that with the innovation and sheer lyrical power of Waters, and the (IMHO as a guitar player) unparalleled feel of Gilmour's guitar playing, and you have a band that seems, in this modern age, something like the pinnacle of popular music.

I’ve been doing some thinking recently about this channel and a thought popped into my mind overnight. It’s been a really interesting journey sharing my love of the piano with everyone all over the world. It still trips me out that I spend an afternoon recording a track (it has to be the afternoon for those curious about the process, as the piano is lit by natural light - it’s best between 1pm - 4pm in the room that I’m recording in), sitting by myself in front of a piano in my music school, and that people from all over the world get to experience a very private moment of my creative process. What I find particularly interesting though is when I listen back to these interpretations, there’s a pretty strong disconnect between playing/recording the tracks and hearing them back. Without a drop of ego, I personally enjoy listening to these tracks either late at night to help me fall asleep, occasionally in the morning when I wake up to find some more motivation about working on my Radiohead songbook, but my favourite time would definitely be when I’m travelling, especially in airports or on planes, and also on public transport. As there are a lot of returning subscribers and listeners on this channel, my question to you is this: Where and when do you listen to these tracks? What are you doing? Working? Studying? Travelling? Eating breakfast? Passing out? What time of day is it? What do you see? How does it make you feel? I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts, so hit me up. What I'd love even more is a picture of where you are when you are watching these clips. Email them to me at hello [at] joshcohenmusic [dot] com and with your permission, I'd love to share them with everyone. As always, thanks for supporting the channel and for incorporating this music into your lives. Man, the internet blows my mind sometimes x

When and where? Being honest, anytime I can, specially when I need to think or "stop" thinking. I repeat the same songs over and over. I've always loved listening to piano, I even learned when I was little, but then I realised it wasn't my thing. I love listening your tracks, makes me even want to play the piano again. Thank you :) don't stop "making". Greetings from Venezuela

I plan on releasing an album of Radiohead tracks alongside my songbook, but am just feeling a little reticent as to the best way to play it all out. I would like to eventually move these tracks on to Spotify as some stage. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as I would need to obtain the rights to release the tracks.

The way RICK INTENDED IT TO BE HEARD hahaha I feel like Wright always got the shaft, with the quadraphonic clocks on "Time" (and you can argue that they make the song, but either way, you know theres not a lot of people that want to be listening to music and be suddenly jarred by that) and the moaning on great gig in the sky, the seagull/wail on Echoes, a lot of rick wrights beautiful pieces have weird sounds over them that I feel can take away from the piece (sometimes it does add, listening to Toree at full volume sends chills down the spine) Just my two cents. Still a brilliant composer and pianist.
