As a devout Pink Floyd fan, anytime Floyd is covered you really never know what your going to hear. This was a brilliant cover. Mr. Gilmour must have been pleased or releasing it wouldnt have been possible. His stamp of approval is good enough. Fan approval though is the true test. Again this was, to quote another, "masterful"

As a die hard Pink Floyd fan, your version of this song honestly brought tears to my eyes!! 😂😂😂 I couldn't help but think how the torch is being passed to you as the generation who created this music is fading away. In your hands and voices, classic rock's torch is continuing to burn brightly and beautifully. 🎆🎆🎆 I always knew that LP would excel at performing PF's music; this is the absolute proof of your wonderful talents! 💖💖💖 There also were some very nice, uniquely LP touches in how the song was performed that elevate it even further like never before! 👏👏👏 I hope you will perform more PF songs and continue to keep the torch burning so brightly and so beautifully! ✨✨✨ Shine on you crazy diamond!! 👍💖🎸😎

Most people like Dark Side of the Moon as their best album. My favorite is Wish You Were Here. I saw the tour in 1975 here in Kansas City at Kemper Arena. They played the whole Wish you were here album, then took a 15-minute break with the house lights on - which really threw those of us fans off who were "in another dimension". We were all looking at each other like WTF, oh well...enjoy the Happy Trails. Then they came back out and played the whole Dark Side of the Moon album. I later saw the Animals tour in '77 which had a wide variety of their songs. But nothing will ever top that '75 concert. It was magical.

My favorite is The Wall. Tells a complete narrative and has some of the best music ever written on it (Hey You, Comfortably Numb). Lots of weird stuff because Pink Floyd, amazing use of different sound effects, iconic pieces like Another Brick in the Wall and Young Lust.... just so brilliant. Though to be fair, any of those three albums are well deserving of being someone's favorite.
@lancehaley9417
@lancehaley9417 3 жыл бұрын
@@vincegonzalez2171 Everyone has different "favorites" for a variety of reasons. For me, it was as much the themes as the music. Wish You Were Here was about how corrupt and dominant the music industry was, as well as a sense of alienation after having been so successful with Dark Side. And Syd Barrett - the founding member of Pink Floyd. His leaving the band was deeply disturbing to all. Thus, some of the songs were written about him. As Roger Waters said of Barrett: "Of course he was important and the band would never have fucking started without him because he was writing all the material. It couldn't have happened without him but on the other hand, it couldn't have gone on with him."

@lancehaley9417
@lancehaley9417 2 жыл бұрын
@@lovelyafternoon It was a very different world back then. When I was attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence in the 1970s (most people don't know that its most famous resident was William Burroughs - author of Naked Lunch and the "Godfather" of the Beat Movement), students would be standing/sitting around in front of Wescoe Hall smoking pot before classes. Wescoe was located directly across the street (Jayhawk Blvd) from Strong Hall - the university's administration building. And the campus cops would drive by all the time. Nobody ever said a word. KU was widely known as a hotbed of Far Left anti-war radicalism back in the 60s and 70s. The Student Union building was set on fire and a bomb blew out the windows of Summerfield Hall - the business building. They called it the Berkley of the Midwest. When the cops pulled you over and found pot - they'd take the pot and let you go. We were pretty sure there was a thriving pot-trafficking business operating out of the police department. Now all KU's known for is their basketball team.

I first saw Pink Floyd in 1968 at the Sound Factory in Sacramento, a little storefront venue that lasted about a year. Playing “Saucer Full of Secrets,” “Interstellar Overdrive,” stuff like no one else was doing. About 200 people there as they played on borrowed instruments on their first US tour, just after Sid’s (whom they are wishing for) mental state precluded his continuing with the group. I know I was stunned by what I heard. Great job on this ladies, as always!

I just wanted to thank you ladies for this incredible version of this song, last saturday on May 21st we had my mom's funeral and this version was the last song we had played during her eulogy/service, it was amazing, thank you for being a part of her send off and I do wish she was here. Rest in Peace Paula L.

Today of all days, this is us the song that I needed to hear. I can’t even talk without sobbing. My unit left too many marines in Iraq in ‘05. Thank you much.

I collect songs/videos by young adults who appreciate my generation's music. It often uplifts me. It sometimes gives me hope. This is a very sad song. But you have managed to infuse it with an easy, hopeful vibe. And you freakin sang it so we can all understand those words. It's not often that lyrics, melody and performance come together this well. Thanks.

My father grew up in WW 2 during Japanese occupation and saw many atrocities as a young child and this song reminds me of his life during wartime . Fast forward to Vietnam and he sees ,participates,and experiences it all over again- it was no wonder he carried this pain with him for the longest time(the war and it's nightmares came home with him) but thank God he finally got healed and I matured so that I could empathize and have some compassion for dear old dad.

Ok, I'm almost as old as dirt at this point, I've known this song since I was teenager, on of the best of pink floyd songs, I've heard more covers of it than I can count too. This though, has to be the first time (including the original) that the song brought me to tears, I've been living in georgia for about 4 years now and have listened to you two for most of that time, you are both amazing with your original pieces and with covers but, omg I've n get even thought about the lead on this song being done on a slide but it is amazing, now I'm torn between what my favorite is, this or your rendition of crawling king snake

Terrific cover or one of my favourite songs. Meghans slide guitar really ads a new dimension in a subtle way. They even left it in when you can see it in her face that she knows she fluffed it ! Shows great humility not to just scrap it and give us a clean version. Pure music can have flaws but sometimes perfect music can be sterile. Music is humanity's most precious gift and humanity is far from perfect. Love it. To anyone who may not have heard it yet, please check out their own song ''Mad as a Hatter''. It's truly magical and yet so poignant.

I have come to the conclusion that these musicians can make any type or genre of music that they care to try. I haven't heard any of their cover songs sound less than stellar. My most sincere thank you for producing music that engages real emotions, not something shallow or false. Again I thank you and hope you will make it to Columbus Ohio on tour.

I love that you make a brief mistake, a quick recovery like a pro, and then chuckle about it a bit later. Every guitar player out there has done it so we all know the feeling and sympathize. It shows just how down to earth you are. My new slogan is "In a world full of overproduced divas be Larkin Poe."
