"Can you tell me if this sounds abusive? My wife has a friend whose husband won't let her visit any friends or family. He has made her stop all contact with them unless it's on the phone or computer. He reads and censors her comments on social media. He makes her feel like she's going crazy for thinking he's controlling, and that she is being ungrateful. (After all, he's only doing this because of how much he cares about her.) He doesn't want her going to the gym anymore, so she doesn't go. He also doesn't let her go to work anymore (he told her to only rely on him for income and that he will take care of her). She's not really allowed to go out anymore unless it's for necessities, and when she does, he makes sure to have people guilt trip her about it and shame her for it. He wants her to have this medical procedure done and tells her that if she does it, he will allow her more freedom. He constantly says he's only doing all of this because he cares... he is just doing it for her own good. Oh, wait... did I say "husband"? I meant the government." - Jeff Berwick

There was a great paragraph in an article I read today about this years tax break. "Analysts at the Bankwest Curtin Economics Cente have estimated about 3.4 million taxpayers - 50 percent of whom were women - would lose out if it was dropped" Women lose out, but not men... the other 50%.

The same is true of “if it bleeds it leads” as is “female suffering sells”. The majority of society at every level, don’t give a shit about male suffering. It’s as if empathy is in short supply, and should be reserved for women and children.
@gort55833 жыл бұрын
The bias against men AND for women is sickening and could not be more obvious but I tend to think even non feminist women actually don't see this bias as women by nature have a very gynocentric view. This bias is most obvious in the MSM and even more so in morning shows and the now plethrora of female only talk shows. I also find it interesting when they give stats they never take into account things like married women or men as married people would be affected differently to single people. Married most affected women even though they have lost their jobs most probably still have a husband to support them. I am not sure that the same could be said for married men.

"Oppressed" groups are used to spur people into caring about social issues but soon come to be the ONLY group associated with that social problem. Women, children, black people, issues that affect everyone are only seen in terms of affecting these people and we become negligent in helping those who aren't used to garner sympathy. The people who would have advocated for those not socially-highlighted become convinced that only those who are socially-highlighted are worthy of their attention and caring about anyone else is diverting resources away from their more noble cause.

Your rulers don't care about your opinions nor beliefs, not via voting at least, which is largely the illusion of being able to change things. Arguing politics is indeed pointless. The intelligent ones now make a plea for sanity, the return of truths, and future survival of their kind when under the heel of their enemies. That doesn't take much political knowledge; it takes a more natural and un-manipulated being.

In my country, Denmark, the male draft is still enforced by law in peacetime, but women can choose to serve because it is their right. Genital mutilation is outlawed for girls, but specifically allowed for boys to not anger the Semites. If we are really required to take all this crap by specific sexist laws, would it not be natural for women to similarly be required to sacrifice something of equal value to their lives? Even if we forced them to keep up the replacement rate through artificial insemination by lottery, it still wouldn't make up for men literally dying in a war.

It's funny how every argument about economic hardship resulting from any kind of policy enacted is cast aside until it harms a woman.
@Athena_said3 жыл бұрын
I mean even if women were disproportionately affected economically that doesn’t tell us anything about a specific bias towards women. They explicitly say it’s largely due to the jobs women have that have been shut down. The only way you can say there is bias in this case is if you can prove 1) the economy purposely put women in those jobs and women didn’t voluntarily decide to work there and 2) if men in those jobs are treated better because of their gender and 3) the economy purposely chose to fuck up these jobs simply because women are in them. Neither of those points was objectively proven. And there is really nothing worse than lying on a bed and needing intensive care and taking your last few breaths. (those people are overwhelmingly male). Edit - I just noticed. Isn’t it interesting how they pretend like men being overwhelmingly affected in past recessions or crises is just casual stuff, not due to bias but since the roles MIGHT BE reversed during this pandemic it’s suddenly because of bias against women? eQuAliTy
