Hey, you have beautiful collection! Where you got that trellis for your climbing rose?

Hey! thank you so much for sharing. Would love to see an update on Emily Bronte and Eustacia Vye. I really want a rose this shade for my front yard but don't want something that would grow too tall. This seems so perfect but I read some reviews that the disease resistance isn't that great. How has your experience been so far?

Both these roses you mentioned are doing really well in my garden. Eustacia Vye just finished her second flush and my goodness… the color on this rose! So sweet and romantic, just exceptionally beautiful really. I quite like the ombre effect with a tiny hint of coral right in the center when the petals fully open. It really is something. Emily Bronte is just as stunning with an ombre of white, peachy pink, and yellowish center. You wouldn’t go wrong with these two for sure! I’ve been so in love with them all summer. In terms of disease.. hmm so I haven’t experienced any other than black spot and that hasn’t happened yet on my Eustacia Vye and Emily Bronte because they haven’t gone through winter in my garden but last year I had black spot disease on my other David Austin roses, even on varieties that are promoted on the website for their health. I think black spot is almost always going to happen here since I’m in PNW zone 8b where winter is constantly damp and cold. Last year was my first year growing roses too so I didn’t know better and I did nothing to minimize the damage. This year however, I’m going to remove majority of their leaves once the blooming cycle’s finished and remove all the fallen leaves from the bottom. I saw my neighbor who’s a much more experienced gardener than me do it and I plan to follow suit! I’ll make a video next spring how that goes. But if black spot is what you’re worried about, no sweat. It’s not detrimental to their growth. It’s more like a nuisance of having to remove the leaves. I’m sorry I can’t comment on other diseases because I haven’t had any yet. Good luck with your roses. I already got my David Austin catalogue out yesterday and circled ones I want next year 😁
