Used this song as an anthem for a dnd character. The story for them was that they were part of a family of nobles. In their society the emperor was dying and had named his twins heirs to ascend to the throne and rule together. The prince refused and the twins ended up in a power struggle. Most of my character’s noble family ended up losing their lives in the power struggle between the too. My character escaped this, leaving to a whole new realm and restarting his life as a reclusive hermit who was known to take in a few students in his long life. Then…he loses that new home once more. A demonic invasion devastates the party’s home and they all barely escape. My character is now forced to restart his life once more, over and over again as the method they used to escape sends them from realm to realm. All the while, he must keep strong and with a brave face since the other members are all his once students, though they are all adults now. So this anthem is what he tries to live by. He remembers the devastation of greed and arrogance that brought down his family, he remembers the persistent kindness of those who took him in and called him their own, and now he remembers what he wishes to protect, tired of running, but willing to try to make things work for the sake of what he has left. That’s how I used this song. I know the lyrics don’t originally speak of a story like this, but I feel they are suitable for this character I created. His whole driving force is to try because it’s all his has left and it’s where his hope still grows from.

@@ronalynrosario1396 well that is pretty much the core of this dnd character’s backstory. It’s coming into play recently more though because one of the newest players added will have a connection to one of the assassins responsible for his family’s death. It’s going to create some tension we are both looking forward to playing out. Already the new character is going to be poking at some old wounds of his, unaware of what they are doing to my character’s psyche. Going to keep him flighty for a while but, well, trying is his whole deal and he has a strong paternal/big brother/teacher vibe and so he is going to let it go for a time and force himself to calm down. That’s pretty much the entire story there without getting into the dnd module I’m playing in or too many details into the other characters.

@@Maariyakhan12 dnd is short for a game called Dungeons and Dragons. It’s a role playing game that uses dice to add a chance element to the story being told. Usually it’s about a story of adventurers with the players being the adventurers. There is also one called either the game master or dungeon master who’s role is to narrate the world and the events that happen when a player says “my character does this” or something of the like. For some games this is theater of the mind but sometimes people create physical representations of the battles or settings.
