I always thought this song was a hidden gem on Ummagumma (sadly, the rest still makes me shudder). Some of the sounds and techniques that emerged during the more well-known Floyd can be heard in this piece. The chord progression is really interesting and David's voice is sublime. The only thing that's missing is one of David's signature guitar solos during the outro. Not sure he had refined his sound yet when this was recorded. It would intersting to hear the song revisited with a more fully developed ending (along the same lines as Fat Old Sun).

One of the PF-trademarks featured in this song: the Wright/Gilmour unison harmony singing on the refrain. Their voices in fact were so similar that can provide the illusion of ONE voice split in two making harmony. So do they on Julia Dream, Echoes and Breathe. One of their strong points.

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Songwriting is more than just the words. It's the union of music and words. (I'm a published poet, as well as an amateur guitarist, but I can't write a song to save my life.)
