While jewellery has always been a way to adorn the body, it also has significant meaning and symbolism. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmaavat - story based on the life of Rani Padmavati; Tanishq, the exclusive jewellery partner for the magnum opus recreates Bhansali’s vision of the Rajputana era through jewellery. how could one have kundan for rajputs in that era when it originated only in the mughal era, which was muchhh muchhh later than khilji. Hath panja originated in Persia and brought to India... sooo much misrepresentation and cultural kidnap here. what a perversion! this guy Bhansali completely flipped the entire culters! emeralds and gemstones were sooo characteristic of turks, safavids persians and ultimately mughals while raw rough desert dwelling rajputs loaded themselves with gold much more, which is what you also see on all of their gods and dieties, heavy yellow and shiny gold, in fabric, in jewellery, in everything supreme, look at mangal sutrs which also makes sense.. you find stones in mountains and turks knew mountains in their blood. while metal you will find here. entire architecture shown as padmavati's palace is sooo mughal so turkish. Rajputs got gem stones included into their jewles much later when Mughals had taken over due to the long influence they brought with them.

Nathni is not the western fashion or trends. Do not make fool to the Indians. Wearing a Nathni and it's design is too old tradition of our country. For example, the tribal has the tradition to ware Nathni throughout their life. The Nathni design is totally similar to the traditional nathni of tribals. I need to correct one word, it's "septum ring", I wrote it as "Nathni". And the design of septum ring that she showed, it is usually find in oxidised jewellery.

Okay, the jewellery were so beautiful but couldn't do justice to Deepika Padukone's looks I must say! Her nose ring was very huge and half of her face was covered due to that! In those minimal jewellery scenes, for eg:Holi and the scenes where padmavati and Rawal Ratan Singh fall in love she looked fab!💓I would go with Jodhabai looks instead of padmavati's 😊

No matter the amount of research - the jewellery + costumes did not go well. It looked like everything available was bumped on Deepika - neither did the complete look ( costume + jewellery) look cohesive. The pieces by themselves stand apart. But when worn together, as we see in the movie, there is no elegance actually it has reduced the masterwork and 'kareegari' is lost in translation. I totally don't think royal heritage was captured right. It in turn looks like Deepika was the dumping ground of jewellery and voluminous clothing . There is total lack of understanding what "Elegance + Opulance" should translate to - Magnificence. Every look in this movie aims to creat opulence and ignoring Elegance.

The film producers pay these jewellery designers to create and design everything. But all the pieces of jewellery is only given to wear once. And give it back to jewellers. Not a single piece of jewelry is given to actors, film producers or makers or production people, unless they buy this stuff. All these jewelleries go again to their shops. Movie makers only pays these jewellery designers to create and rent the jewelry and give it back to them.

Khilji doesn't come from Turkey his ancestors were from turkistan ( northern Afghanistan including central Asia ) settled in khurasan now a days Afghanistan for 200 years . in the padmavat movie unfairly Khilji is shown so barbaric as usual which is done in bollywood to create a negative role to have a Vilian in the movie

Technically, he's of a "Turkic" background which at the time meant all of the lands from the Caspian Sea (including Azerbaijan and Georgia, etc.) through all of Central Asia. His background included Turkish, Persian, Mongol, and ultimately Afghan tribal genetics. Central Asia at the time was a mix of all of these.
