Kandy is magic! And neighboring areas are super, the coast do not know much. In a video from another youtube user I have heard that the ticket for the orphanage costs several thousands of rupees, I have been there in 2008 ... Namaste!

My wife and I visited this elephant orphanage while on holiday in Sri Lanka in 2005, and it was a delightful day, and I also filmed them.

Visit to Pinnawela Elephant Orphange is must. You will appreciate the way these people take care of these Majestic Elephants yet Orphans. It was about couple of thousand Rupees though. I was told that all most all the proceeds are being allocated to taking care of the place. So it is not a waste. These animals need to be fed & given special care to a few and all in all I was very glad the contribution I made towards this orphange in 2010. If any one visiting SL please visit this Orphange as well
