You are certainly familiar with SFIC’s. Very helpful. I can’t wait to check out your web site. Appreciate your help. I agree that Jerry Finch’s class is fantastic.

When painting a 7 pound cylinder to a six pin system do you leave the first or the last whole empty

The Best brand uses a depth stop system rather than a shoulder stop system. So pin 1 will be closest to the small tip of the key (furthest from the face of the lock) and pin 7 will be closest to the full width shoulder.

Most cores I deal with are 7 pin, but they all ship with a small spacer that gets added to the back, in the pin 1 slot, in case you are working with 6 pin cores.

I remember adding so many pins that when I stuck the key in the cap pooped and all the springs and pins popped out 😂 my first boss was so mad

do you know of a way to get my hands on some cheap sfic hardware without a locksmith license? Is eBay the best bet?
@Thethreetumblers6 жыл бұрын
withUonPlanetE Lots of good deals on eBay, for sure. AmericanKeySupply has cores for sell at $7.50 each as well. That’s a fairly good deal.
