Yeah, Sam's voice and style are distinct and unique to him. He's a runner up in the country's long-running and real tough singing competition TNT season 1. A versatile singer/performer, he's basically into pop and boyband songs but is able to cut across many music genres including r&b, pop rock, hip hop/rapping, etc. You'd be surely amazed when you watch his covers of When I Look At You by Miley Cyrus and Falling by Harry Styles. Technically it was originally done by All-4-One on the Space Jam soundtrack from 1996. Christina always associated the song with her relationship with her mother because of all the shit they went through together regarding her father and everything.
