We should read between the lines, though. He did not talk much about the house. Kasi naniniwala sya na pag walang magandang sasabihin e quiet na lang. Subtle lang ang disapproval. Siguro dahil na rin sabi nga nya hindi nya alam ang dahilan bakit di naghire ng architect si Loisa. Kaya ayun nagsabi na lang sya ng mga dapat gawin pag magpapatayo ng bahay. Bottom line is, dapat talaga maghire ng professionals pag mga ganyan kasi for the safety of the people na titira sa bahay. I mean, hanggang ngayon inaantay pa rin natin ang sinasabi nilang "the big one". A well planned house has a higher chance of being safe during such disasters.

GFCI's actually open at very low currents to prevent electrocution. Circuit breakers open at much higher currents and are actually designed to protect the house wiring and not the occupant or the appliance.

I can relate to Miss Loisa's situation. My current 13.5sqm tiny house with foundation project didn't receive any professional advice. It is being worked on by my father, isa siyang karpintero and he headed the project, sobrang liit lang ng budget. I shared a series of videos here on KZbin. It breaks my heart na nakakareceive akong criticism like hinahantay nalang nila magulo yung bahay ko. But, on the flip side, I was able to see the opportunities. And super thankful ako kay Papa kasi siya nagpapakahirap dun and to the nice and motivating comments that I am receiving from the videos. One thing is for sure, once I saved up, I will build a bigger and better house in the future, by that time, pangarap kong makuha si Architect Llyan! Nung nag earthquake last April 2019, gumuho yung pader namin and halos nasira din ung mga parts ng bahay namin sa Pampanga. Ang nagdesign lang ng bahay is sila sila lang (relatives sa father side). That's why you should really need professionals sa field na yun para alam mong safe ka and hindi na gagastos ulit magpagawa ng sira. I'm planning to renovate the house soon, mag-iipon muna ako 🙂

SAD REALITTY: Kailangan natin iconsider na third world country/ developing country tayo kaya di po natin maiiwasan na architecture is perceived as luxury. Eto po palaging nireremind samin ng mga arki prof namin, mahirap magfill-in the gap kapag may stigma na, and hindi kaya iaddress ng isang tao lang. We define our own contentment and may mentality tayong mga pinoy na 'dapat makatipid', and since there's this stigma that getting an architect is luxurious, or expensive, most Filipinos choose not to. Akala ng iba ito ay optional lang pero sa totoo lang, it's needed. Tinitimbang ng mga Pilipino ang basic needs. Same case rin ito sa art scene, maraming artists ang nadedegrade dahil 'di siya basic need'. We have to understand both sides. Both are victims of the system, both are oppressed.
