Another great video you made. It had me take a ride through and around one of the world's largest malls!!! And judging by the construction of numerous casino resorts in Bay City, Metro Manila will have a little bit of Las Vegas in it!! Let's see if all that would give the Vegas Strip (a.k.a. Las Vegas Boulevard) some serious global competition in the gaming and resort market!!!

Agree! Although SM has made huge strides in Aura. It's a beautiful mall, like the Tokyo JR train station. I also like SM Baguio, which supposedly inspired the look of SM Marilao and some newer malls in Southern Tagalog. MOA's curving layout is good start to keep away from the American style box mall. Still, excepting Aura, Ayala Malls and Lopez's Power Plant are far nicer. By the way, dmitri, when you did this video last year, were you able to explore up to the Alphaland Marina? That place is supposed to be nicer and classier than Subic Bay Yacht club. I understand Alphaland and DM Wenceslao, the partners of the project split up and that this development is suspended. DM Wenceslao owns the rights to develop Sangley point as the next NAIA mega airport, like Kansai island airport in Japan. I think DM Wenceslao is one of the contractors of TPLEx and I think STAR tollway.

I can see that Mr. Sy's model for malls is the Chinese model. Its not as expansive as the US mall cities that have parking lots that fit semi's and RV's easily. I find the Chinese model more homey and human in scale, though. Almost all engineering and finishing supplies for Mall's are China sourced nowadays. China has easily 300 mall cities that can cater to at least 10million customers a week at max. capacity. Impressive! That's why they need all those expressways, which I understand is the inspiration of your friend's expressway signage. That Japanese resto that's your favorite at MOA, what's the name again? Is it anywhere near the big Highland's steakhouse on the 2nd floor, bay view side?

Re: Japanese resto - yes its near highlands, facing the manila bay (Tanabe) but it has been long since my last visit. My observation with SM is that the design is always like a box not as fancy as Ayala Malls.

I just "discovered" this youtube channel. I observed that you actually drive on the innermost lane the one that has a LEFT TURN ARROW in it. I was accosted by a traffic enforcer once when I drove on the center lane saying that when I do I should turn left because of the arrow. I find this resaoning ridiculous. The innermost lane is supposed to be the FAST LANE so even if there is a left arrow I can still drive straight. Is this correct?
