Hey Painty! I pretty much just got done poppin' my cherry on this second design. I painted the middle part about 300 times. Then I did another 50ish with the width. My lines are starting to look pretty good. Still a bit sloppy. But, now I am moving on to other designs. I also switched from the Mack to the Kafka scrolling brushes set. Anyways! Thanks for the videos. They got my paint drippin'.

Great to hear you’re having fun, I’d stick to the Mack brushes myself but if you’re more comfortable rocking the Kafka brushes, go with it. Thanks for watching and keeping me updated with your progress. Keep them brushes wet and keep that paint flowing 👍

Really nice video and beautiful work, have you done any hot rod or m/c shows ? I did them (35) for almost eighteen years.
@PaintySniffers3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, I have done car and bike shows, they're good fun but wind, dust and rain can make painting tricky. How do you deal with the elements at shows? Thank you for watching and commenting, I hope you're recovering well.

@@PaintySniffers for a long time I used a 10x15 easy-up in camo so the light wasn’t distorted with color it also has 4 sides, in heavy wind I’ve actually had people holding it down for me...light weight easy for one to raise, did the job. Then I found Hanson Weatherport , 15x20, looked like a quantity hut, sealable windows and two doors, the white canopy alone was 300 lbscould withstand a 40 lb per square.ft. Snow. Load, I could do chin-ups on the frame, took a huge effort to set up but NOTHING would interfere with work..ever. For a five day show it was the key for several other Pinstriper’s, but they all went smaller...expensive too, but sure made life easier in the long run. I had a crowd of about 25-30 people watch me struggle raising this tent at Sturgis one year,when it hailed on us

Do you have a video or can you make one on how you are getting such clean curves? I tend to get “blow outs” when making curves.

Want tips Okay As soon as the tip of the brush touches the work line width is established Stop at desired with and maintain the same pressure throughout the line Also paint consistency is very important . Drag the brush

I just ordered my brushes! I cant wait to get started. Question, what is best to use for practice panels ? Love your videos, i hope to be as good and or better. Lol. ( wishful thinking )
@PaintySniffers5 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel. any smooth surface that will take paint is good to practice on. Old car panels, glass, fridges, doors, anything really. I use a sign making material called Alupanel. Practice daily and you'll soon be better than me👍 Thank you for watching.

Awwwmazing! So what kind of brush and paint would we need for this? Thanks’
@PaintySniffers4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You would need a pinstriping brush like a Mack series 10 or Xcaliber and some enamel paint, I have another video that shows you the basics. Thank you for watching, have fun 👍

Painty Sniffers so what are the basics to learn
@PaintySniffers4 жыл бұрын
The basic brush strokes (C curves, S curves and short straight lines) and pulling clean lines. Getting the paint consistency right is key. I’ve got a video on here about learning to pinstripe. If you’ve any questions or problems feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to help. Have fun 👍

You will have to practice daily . [for several months]
@PaintySniffers2 ай бұрын
I know this is an old comment but I’m sitting here watching paint dry and this is top of the list of comments I’ve not replied to yet. Yes, you’re right, several months would be the absolute minimum. I’ve seen cars at shows this season that have been pinstriped by people that should’ve practiced a bit longer (I’ve nothing against that but in years to come they’ll look back and cringe, assuming they carry on pinstriping that is). With a tag like “1-shotslinger” I’m going to guess that you paint? How busy are you?
