How did you sign up to the affiliate link network websites? Do you need to prove you are an influencer? Have a spec of number of followers?

Hey Ana, so every network is different. Some of them have minimum thresholds, and some just require you to have a website. I would start with the network you're most interested in and then carefully fill out their application process. They want to see that you're serious about promoting the content and want to know how exactly you're planning on promoting the affiliate products. I got accepted into most of those networks having less than 10K subs on social.

Question about Amazon in the US. So if i create a blog post on pintrest about a list of best gifts, for example. Would putting links in the list be considered indirect affiliate? So amazon would be ok to use? Just not only a pin w/ the link?

Hey Adelina, so if you use the pin with your list then you only get one link option and then which link from which affiliate product would you choose. So I think in your scenario it would be better to create a blog post with the list and link each affiliate product in the post. And then link to the post in your pin. Does that make sense?

Hey Khotso, so I don't use Clickbank that's why I'm not 100% sure. But, as I mention in the video you'll have to go into Clickbank's terms and services and find the section about their affiliate policy and specifically for Pinterest to know for sure if its allowed or not. You can also ask Clickbank directly.

Yes, I think that's a good comparison :) Well, in theory, yes, you could only create affiliate links but remember to make good affiliate sales, you want to build trust with your audience. It's tough to sell affiliate products to a stranger. Maybe you want to think about creating a blog where you talk about the affiliate product and then create pins that lead to that blog post.

Great video Katie, I do have a question: I see that there must be yet another way to affiliate market on Pinterest through pins that don't lead a person off of Pinterest, but instead little word bubbles appear on the pin/image like "sofas", or "floor lamps" and if you click it, it leads to another Pinterest page with the ability to scroll through similar items (and not necessarily the item exactly in the pin)...that then if you click a product pin it leads to a direct sales page. What are those? Is that Pinterest's own program? How profitable are those pins? How can someone start to make those? Seems great because it leads a person to a variety of similar items that may fit the person's taste even better than my personal picks...and no need to apply to or sort through all these affiliate networks' products. Please advise. Thank you so much.

Yes, you're spot on, Sarah. Pinterest has started "tagging" products in pin images. You can also tag your own products in pins when you have an online store. Or you can tag "affiliate product." I'm still testing this feature, trying to find the best strategy. It's still a pretty new thing, but I agree it could be a great strategy to promote products. For sure will make a video about it once I know more.

That's not possible for me to say so generally. You would really have to test out what works for your niche and business. It also depends on the products you promote and the trust your audience has in what you're selling.
