I grew up there. It was in decline at that time, but there was one thing Jersey City could always be proud of, and that was the Fire department. The house I grew up in was set on fire 3 times while I lived there. Very frightening experience. But those guys responded within 2 minutes each time. The house is still there because of them. Thanks guys.
