Pioneer CDJ 2000 and Serato Native Control

how to set up CDJ 2000 and Serato Native Control: you will need
1. 3 USB cables a ttm57 or SL1, SL2, SL3, and SL4 and maybe a USB HUB
2. CDJ 2000 or 900
3. Serato 2.1 and cdj firmware 3.1

That shit is marvelous. That native HID is the hotness. Everything is so easy guys I've updated in a club right before I played don't sweat it. It's easy. I can't believe it's that well integrated. Pioneer is making it a little over kill though. Rekordbox quantizes and analyzes it, saves it to USB drive, you can plug it in and bam. If there's cdj 2000s there's no reason for serato, it really is just another display of a wave form and the same library.

@DeeJayChrisRyan Wiplash is using the TT57 mixer (serato built in) so you dont need RCAs. On the other hand, I have the SL1 so you have to connect the RCA outputs from the SL1 to your Line IN on each channel. Make sure you click INTERNAL MODE in the serato software for each deck. SO: USBs from each CDJ go to your laptop, USB from your laptop to SL1, RCAs from SL1 to the mixer, output from mixer to speaker.

When you use the cdj2000 as a native controller for serato do all the features(hot cues, looping, reverse, and everything else it can do) on the cdj2000 still work the same as when you use a cd or USB stick or sd card.

@galactic604 You can connect the CDJ's via ethernet and select the link function on deck 2 to connect to the software. You shouldn't need two USB cables / a hub for two decks.

hey djsteveskillz, you should see the CDJ as just a remote controller for the serato software. serato always automatically streams audio trough their own interfaces like the SL-1,2,3,4 and the TTM57 SL, in case of using the rane built mixers i guess the serato software allocates the output signal of each deck to it's corresponding mixer channel

you need to have rca cabels from the sl box to your mixer. and no you can only use 2 cdj with sl2 and 3 cdj with sl3 and 4 cdj with sl4 ;)

Hi, I have serato box sl3 but at the venue i dj at which is a strip joint it has the old serato box sl1. The owner there is too cheap to buy a newer serato box such as an sl3 or the sl4. Anyway, my question about using the cdj 2000 with serato natively with the serato box sl1 is....would i still need to connect the the thru's on the back of the sl box in order to play regular audio cd's?

I am using a SL4 box, I get it all wel to connect the 3 USB's from the CDJ 2000 and the serato box. Then how does the mixer gets a signal for every line, how do I connect that? I missed that part. Do I have to use specific mixers or?

for the lat 18 months iv ran two 850s SL2 and a korg nano pad . had no problems what so ever untill last night ! when i now fire up my 850s they say connected but wont let me select a deck now and my nano pad light doesnt even light up ! do you think there is a problem with my hub ? maybe its just started to get old and stopped working properly ? help !

What you don't see however is that when two decks are connected the stupid CDJ 2000 will scroll both decks simultaneously no matter which scroll knob you use. So unless you're looking at the laptop both decks will show the same song. Extremely stupid Pioneer! Where's the update?
