There is a firmware 1.02 upgrade for the Pioneer DDJ-SR released by Pioneer on On the 2nd week of October 2013. Which made some improvements and added some features to the controller.

Once you agree to terms a folder will download called DDJ-SX_V105 (or what ever the new update name is) open the folder inside is the jar file.

It is my understanding that from factory these unit are supposed to be able to be used with other MIDI controller softwares. There is some documentation that states that the update should be performed to take advantage of full functionality of the DDJ-SX with Traktor Pro or Virtual DJ Pro. On the notes that I read both Traktor and Virtual DJ are listed. Personally I haven't used Traktor Scratch Pro (Not saying I will not look at it, Just saying I have not tried it myself at this time)

Two things you can do 1. Adjust the Sensitivity by using the Jog Wheel Trim located onthe front of the unit. 2. Zero Calibration by Performing a Factory Reset. Note: This will not delete/undo the firmware upgrade. It will only set the unit to the same settings it had straight out of the box.

Keep in mind the Software is different from the firmware. Sounds like you updated the Firmware successfully. For Serato software updates visit: Serato's website and go to the downloads segment. They will keep the latest versions posted on that page. Hope this helps.

No. you may want to adjust your sensitivity level (located in the front of the unit) also restart after performing the update.

Thank you my brother... Serato and Pioneer are useless. You email them for help and they get back to you a week later. I’m going to go ahead and try this procedure. I’m also noticing when I try to beat match using my left jog wheel it jumps places and even ends my track.

hey man,great video.i bought my ddj sx today, the original update it came with was working perfectly fine. i updated to serato dj 1.1.2 and ever since my program has been crashing. i have to keep closing the program and reopening it..so frustraing!! canu plz give instructions on how ican go back to the original update it came with, i keep reading all over the next that the updates arnt very good, if u can z help me would b great!!

Hi, I hope you can help. I have had a DDJ-SX2 for approx four years. Over the last couple of months, I have been experiencing sound drops, the player stops playing for a second then restarts. Have tried a new USB cable, changed the USB port on my iMac, cleaned all cable connections and so on, all to no avail. Just watched your video on downloading the current software update. Went to Pioneer support, entered my model name in the archive as it's no longer manufactured, found the page where it shows Firmware/Drivers/Midi-Mapping-Files, but then nothing for macOS Catalina. The last firmware is from Feb. 6th 2020, but nothing for my Mac! Any suggestions? I'm assuming a Catalina incompatibility now but really shooting in the dark. Would be good to get a response from you, Thanks

When My ddj sx2 is plugged into my computer and I start the program, it only shows one turntable instead of two and the fx2 light flashes when the USB is plugged in, when unplugged, it stops flashing....anyone please help me.

check under your listed connected USB devices. (see if it appears under hardware listed). Check power, check USB cable. If not working contact Pioneer.

I use the DDJ-SX with Serato. As long as you keep updating Serato software you don't need to upgrade the firmware as Serato is precisely configured to the DDJ-SX. Mine has worked flawlessly since purchase.

+DJ Esco I would first trouble shoot the connection to the mac. 1. Connect another device to that USB port to see if it is reliable. 2. Make sure you meet the specifications required. if so try reinstalling Serato DJ you may somehow have corrupted the software. 3. If still not working contact pioneer.

+DJ Esco also check your buffer settings in Serato DJ. you may have it too far to the right which may cause drop out or communication loss.
