When the Smart Fader button is turned off, the overall sound is quieter than when it's on. When it's on, the sound is "brighter" and louder. How can i fixed it?

This might be your issue. Are you using the bottom channel slider? There is a setting in Rekordbox that you can change the Smart Fader to only use the channel faders. When you have the channel slider in the middle it acts as if you are halfway between your transition. That's why the volume is low.

As much as I hate the idea of 'automixing', this actually looks like a very useful feature, particularly for open-format genres with wildly varying BPMs. I suppose this effect could be done manually, but it would be extremely cumbersome. The only thing I want from this feature is the ability to disable the auto-lowend cutting and echo, which I would prefer to control myself.

Completely fair comments and whilst I am always a massive advocate for mixing by ear, I think for beginners this could be fun. I also agree it would be great to see more flexibility with regards to the echo out/EQ options. Thanks for watching!
