What are some limitations on controlling Rekordbox via Performance Mode (compared to using RX2 as a standalone unit)? Heard that the sound color FX can't be designated via RX2 buttons (instead you have to change FX in Rekordbox). Is this still the case? Also, if I edit hotcues and memory cues/loops via RX2 hardware buttons in performance mode (for FLAC files that can't run on standalone mode...) would it actually update the original files on my laptop accordingly (vs. pulling files from laptop in "read-only" fashion and not being able to edit them on RX2)?

@3:43 my mixer does not automatically switch to midi mode, rather it gets stuck on that screen. What could be the issue here? I know I have the USB link driver installed.

Can you make hot/memory cue points in export or performance mode WHILE the XDJ is plugged in? Basically, I want to set hot/memory cue points while the controller is plugged in that way I can navigate the song quicker and test out cue points before I place them using the controller. Then have all that metadata saved in the software so I can export to USB later on to use as a standalone. Edit: want to prep in the software with the XDJ plugged in and then export to use as standalone later on while preserving changes made in the software.

Rb crashes when analyzing tracks. I can do 1000 or I can do 10 it crashes every time I've had enough..

Okay, I'm trying to export my library onto my usb, which I've done, keys, BPM, everything, but when I got to load it onto my unit standalone, it then says the tracks aren't analyzed by rekordbox but they very clearly are. I lose all access to bpm and key ay this point. The thing is, it's worked with other purchased music no problem, but everything from Itunes is a no go and it's music I own. So confused, can anyone help?

Could be that the export is for the wrong device; check the export preferences in rekordbox to ensure that you're not accidentally exporting for the XDJ-R1.

Hi All, I am running a Macbook with High Sierra and followed the steps above. When I open Midi Audio there is nothing about the RX2 but there is when I open Show Midi Studio. Basically I cant get it to work at all and in Rekordbox peferences there is also nothing about the RX2. Can anyone help?

Since High Sierra, Apple introduced driver security into the OS to prevent malicious extensions from being installed; follow the instructions here to ensure you bypass that security warning. Pulse, I followed these instructions to-a-T and still cannot get the driver's to show in the MIDI folder. The hardware has been hooked up properly and only the sound is coming from the computer and is very faint. When I checked the Audio MIDI Setup, there is no trace of the XDJ-RX2 in this folder. Can you shed some light on this?

If you've got macOS High Sierra, you need to install the drivers once, follow these instructions (pdj-ecom-cdn.azureedge.net/-/media/pioneerdj/downloads/other/troubleshooting/troubleshooting_highsierra_001_e.pdf?la=en) to disable the driver security, then install the drivers again.

What kinda cable to do you need if you connect to an all-in-one controller using export mode?

The RX2 doesn't have an ethernet jack, so you'd use the USB cable for either mode.

Open the Audio MIDI Setup app and the MIDI Studio window is one of the windows you can open within that app.

should work out the box as long as you analyse your tracks through rekordbox and set the beat grids so they're in time, very time consuming but then on the screen the tracks should be in time, this system is supposed to be used without a laptop
