Pioneer's from the 70s (530, 550, 570, 1800) were stunning. I have the PL A500 (Japanese 100v version of the 530) and I love it.

I agree these are stunning. The vinyl wrap Pioneer used is often failing at the edges, which gives a great excuse to redo them with real wood veneer. This takes them to the next level. With the thick aluminum control panel - well, very sweet! I haven't had the 1800 in person, but I am always looking... thanks for the comment.

@Round2Audio I had an 1800 and it's one of the most beautiful tables I ever owned, but I moved it on to a new home when I got the Victor bug 🫤

Yes, that would be great. I also have some teak veneer, but that is a similar color to this Walnut. I could try stain of course, but I generally. like the natural color. Thanks for watching!

Great find! Speed control problems are most often the potentiometers under the front panel. Clean these well internally with Deoxit Faderlube.

I have this PL530 but sometimes I have to adjust the pitch control, it goes slow then faster, I fixed twice but the I still have the problem, could it be a factory defect ?

Hi Randall, Unsteady speed is not a defect. You will need to clean the speed adjustment potentiometer with a good quality electrical cleaner. Either no residue or Deoxit Fader. If you get in underneath the pot is fairly accessible with taking off other parts. Good Luck!
