That will be my first job. Cleaning the potmeters. With mine the source knob is faulty. One channel dies completely sometimes, turning the source knob a few times solves the issue. Have this problem sometimes once in 5 months, sometimes 5 times a week. The amplifier has never been opened or serviced. So it's time..

I would assume the part is not in stock in his shop. I`m sure he would have this discussion with his client.

the real reason is....it is a item that needs to be ordered if it's available and he (the owner) stated he was using this amp as a pre-amp and sets the volume on one position so he leaves it at that position at all time and it wasn't a big deal for him... but he is aware of the volume pot thought and the choice was his...
