Great video. I have loved the Pioneer SA- 9100 since I bought mine new in 1972. I still have it and use it almost daily. I also have the matching tuner, the TX - 9100. Keep up the good work…

Greenest practice out there without knowing it. Make the best thing you can do it actually lasts a lifetime and it’s a one time purchase. 50yrs with you? That’s amazing.

I just bought one. It looks brand new, and everything inside is like new also. I am a happy guy now. ❤

Congratulations on reaching 1K subscribers. I love my 9100, it sounds so nice and don’t think I could sell it. Great video!

Always enjoy the format in a more relax manner and not so focused on the “audiophile” side of the deal. Thanks for the shots and taking the time to share your experiences, knowledge and details in the pieces you stumble upon. Cheers!

I really appreciate your feedback! I certainly have some fun putting these together... I've had far too many pieces, lol.

I have several pioneer and marantz vintage amps, some of them bigger and more legendary, but the 9100 is still one of my favorites because of its sound

Great video. I compare this 9100 to the SA 8800 blue line. I have both of these great amps. Phono selection is Fantastic !

Thanks for following me! Can I ask what you mean by turning up the frequency? Are you referring to the resolution of the videos?

Thank you for sharing! I've never listened to the 8100, but I would expect a very similar sound indeed.

Just picked up one of these today in VGC for just $40. Needs a good cleaning, but it looks fantastic.

Have one and it's amazing. Why more power then you need to drive just about anything
@ebayerr Жыл бұрын
60 watts per channel is way more than anyone will use. If you're listening to music and still wanting to have conversations, the stereo will be putting out less than one watt.
@1JGP1 Жыл бұрын
You're right... It doesn't take much power for the right speakers to play loud.
@ebayerr Жыл бұрын
@@1JGP1 : I guess I should've said "more than most people will use". I think rock music turned up to 15 watts is enough to get the cops called. And yes,some speakers are more efficient than others.

If I wanted to purchase my husband an equalizer for his sa-9100 how would I hook it into the system?
@johnlee83172 ай бұрын
I have the 9100 and have tried lots of EQ,s with the amp, in my opinion the 9100 sounds better with out an EQ added It does not have the same quality of sound with an EQ I believe it don’t one.
@1JGP12 ай бұрын
Typically via the tape monitor loop, even the pre out power in RCA's can probably be used. If you go to Hi-Fi Engine, you can get a free account and download the user manual...it will show you how in the guide!
@johnlee83172 ай бұрын
Nice information but your not really helping her, yes you can use an EQ with the 9100 but the sound quality will not be as good.
@1JGP12 ай бұрын
@@johnlee8317 it's had to say "do or don't do"...have you ever listened to a set up where you sort of cringe - i.e. "too much bass" or "too much treble"? I've come to conclude that "to each their own". In this case, perhaps they are dealing with a room that can't be tamed without eq adjustment - perhaps it's a pair of speakers that (similarly) need correction. Or, perhaps they just want that big ol' smilie face frequency response. The reality is, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, not all EQ's are evil - I've had a few over the years that did not degrade sound quality, could be bypassed with a switch, but provided me the ability to tweak when I needed. I completely agree that the 9100 has lots of tone control options, point taken, but saying it will not be "as good" is too generic of a statement.

Could anyone offer any comparison between the Pioneer SA-9100 and Sansui AU-7700? Particularly in sound characteristics.

Congratulations, your presentation is excellent and content is highly informative... I have a Pioneer SA 8100 and it is excellent.... I image the 9100 is way better, but some say the pioneer SA 900 beats them all... is that so.

Di you still have the Yamaha A-S1000? Found one for 700 Euro in black, don't know if it's worth risking it since I've heard they have some problems with the software or something.
@1JGP1 Жыл бұрын
No, I did sell it and I had upgraded a while back to the AS-1200. I never heard of software problems on them personally.

People dont realize that 20 watts is a lot of power to push most speakers to very loud volumes.
@1JGP14 ай бұрын
I agree...Realistically, we mostly listen to the first few watts - right? For example, my Altec are about 105 dB per watt per meter...Could you imagine louder? lol.
