Pioneer SX-1250 Max Clipping Power 180W & THD Specification Verification w/ Panasonic VP-7725

In this video I demonstrate max clipping power of the SX-1250 into an 8 ohm load as well as a close look at THD performance against published distortion curves.
During this bench test I clocked the output of this restored SX-1250 at 180W per channel, both channels driven into an 8.1 ohm load. 123VAC Mains at less than .1% THD+N. Panasonic VP-7725B Oscillator .0001%

Excellent work Ben. That 1250 was kickin butt at 180watts. What frequency was that? 1kHz?

Yes, the max clipping power test was done at approx 1KHz. The test frequency is displayed on the distortion analyzer in most shots.

Hi. What's you opinion on the Pioneer SX-737? Have you had experience with it? Looking for a solid receiver with a good price-performance ratio.

I'm probably missing something, but your printed graph shows distortion at 100W should be .06%. The audio analyzer is showing ~.006% at 100W, so an order of magnitude off. Is this a result of how you have the analyzer set? Great video and very interesting to see this on the SX-1250 (I'll never sell mine).

.006 is show on the graph for 1KHz, about .025% for 20KHz, the graph is not easy to read :)
