The Pioneer SPH-10BT is designed to be used with the Pioneer Smart Sync App on your phone. When using the Smart Sync app, the clock is displayed at the top right of the screen when in "music mode" and on the far right panel when using "dash mode". The Pioneer SPH-10BT is designed from the ground up to be used with a phone to control the in-dash receiver using Pioneer's Smart Sync App. The phone must have a Bluetooth connection to the in-dash receiver, but it does not have to be physically in the receiver's phone cradle. If you don't want to use a phone to control the operation, a more traditional in-dash receiver may be a better choice for you. It is possible to select songs on a USB flash drive on SPH-10BT without a phone, however it's clumsy and difficult and I don't recommend it. The SPH-10BT is designed to be used with a phone. Using a phone with the Pioneer Smart Sync app makes the process of choosing songs to play very easy. The Pioneer SPH-10BT is not designed to be a CarPlay receiver. The SPH-10BT is an audio only receiver with a cradle to hold your phone. The phone is then used as the graphical user interface to control every function of the in-dash receiver including music source, navigation, and other options. @@tayler2396 You loose the appearance of Apple CarPlay and some of the voice operation of Apple CarPlay when you use the SPH-10BT with an iPhone. You'll also give away screen size from the in-dash receiver to your phone. CarPlay makes it easy to send and receiver voice text messages through the in-dash receiver. It's not as easy with SPH-10BT but it can be done. Some of the source app changes you can do by voice in CarPlay may require a screen touch with SPH-10BT. If you're looking for voice navigation, and music from your phone, SPH-10BT is a very good solution and generally less expensive than an Apple CarPlay in-dash receiver. CarPlay receiver's are generally more advanced audio products than the SPH-10BT. Bridging the in-dash receiver output is not recommended. This will result in "AMP ERROR" display. There is no setup operation designed for bridging the internal amplifier. Hi, Excuseme but How do I install an amplifier that has front speakers, rear speakers and subwoofer if this stereo only has two pairs of RCA outputs and I need 3 pairs of outputs?

There are several ways to make this work. Here are two possible solutions. Many multi-channel amplifiers can split the input signal to more than one channel. I recommend to set up the Pioneer SPH-10BT RCA outputs, both front and rear, as full range outputs. Run the front outputs to the A channel on the Amp. Split the Rear outputs, and run to both the B channel and the Sub channel on the Amp. In this set up, you'll need to use the LPF crossover on the amplifier subwoofer channel. Also on the amplifier you may want to use the HPF crossover on the A and B channels. In this set up you will not have direct subwoofer control from the in-dash receiver. Another way to make this work is to Run the front RCA output to the A channel. Split the A channel input to the B channel. And the Rear RCA to the sub woofer channel. In this set up, you will not have a Fader Control from the in-dash receiver. 1. It depends upon what country you are in. It the US, yes both Spotify and Google Maps work with the Pioneer SPH-10BT. 2. I recommend Pioneer TS-A1370F. The amp built into the SPH-10BT will work great. 3. This means it is designed to charge modern android based phones. 5V 1.5 Amp 4. Check the version number on your particular receiver. Please be more specific with your question. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? What iPhone are you using? What is the iOS version? Are you using the Pioneer Smart Sync app on the phone? Are you experiencing this same behavior on other apps on the phone or is it just SiriusXM? If you use the receiver's Bluetooth Audio source, do you experience the same pause action on the SiriusXM app?

@@pioneerelectronics the mode of receiver is the one in this video. iPhone 12 Pro. iOS 15.5. Yes, using the smart sync app (just updated it yesterday to the newest version). Just having this issue while connected to the smart sync app and SiriusXM. (I’ve made sure that app was updated as well). It doesn’t happen while not connected to smart sync or with any other Bluetooth speakers I listen to through my phone. Not sure how to use the receivers Bluetooth audio source. (I get into the smart sync app, click the 6 round dots, scroll down to SiriusXM app, it takes me to the app and I play from there.

I have a MVH-620-BHS & Motorola G7 android. When I switch from the USB source to any other source " radio or bluetooth" when I switch back to USB the head unit remembers my last song but the list on the smart sync app always reverts back to the first song on my list. Is there a way to make the smart sync USB list show the same as my head unit? Thanks for any help.

As of 2020 January, I'm not aware of a way to change what you are seeing on the smart sync app. Does skipping to the next track, or back, match up the app and receiver? Can you use the phone cradle with a case on, the grips look really tiny. As for the other comment on battery drain as it will be using continuously, I might just use an old phone for the app.

Please be sure to update your Pioneer SPH-10BT with the latest firmware. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Digital+Media+Receivers/SPH-10BT#downloads If this does not correct the issue please check the Fader Control from the Pioneer Smart Sync App. Open the settings menu and choose the Audio Settings and choose Fader/Balance. The fader control moves the sound from the front speakers to the rear speakers. I recommend to put the fader control in the middle. There is microprocessor reset button behind the detachable face. Remove the face. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. If this does not solve the issue, I recommend to do a System Reset. With the vehicle on and parked, Press and hold the Music Notes hard key until the SPH-10BT turns off. Next press and hold the Home Button hard key to display the main menu. Press > arrow right to display Initial and Press the Home Button hard key to confirm. Next press the arrow right > to display Reset. Prese the Home Button hard key to confirm the System Reset. Depending upon the source you are listening to, for example USB music, try to Press and Hold the arrow right and left hard keys on the in-dash receiver to Fast forward or Rewind within a particular track. That's an entirely different issue. If you turn off the vehicle, remove the key, and open the door and leave the car, and the in-dash receiver stays powered on, that means you have the receiver wired incorrectly. Focus on the Red Wire and the Yellow Wire. Do not combine Red and Yellow together. Red is for ignition. Yellow is constant power for the clock and audio settings.
