I don't know the hits looks too soft, they don't feel like they are connecting between you and the enemies. I think it's very important in a game like this. What makes Diablo being above all other hack and slashes in my opinion is the impact the attacks have on enemies...if that game can have something similar, you have a big hitter right there...but so far the impact and hits are too slow or soft, it doesn't feel connected.

Looks amazing so far, it gives me Black Ops 1 vibes for some reason! Love that game and this one looks pretty great too! :) A critique- I would definitely recommend giving the melee combat a little more sense of weight, it seems like the player just effortlessly slices through things or slashes in the air, so I think updating the animations to have stronger impacts and a little more chunkiness overall. That's a small critique though, keep up the great work!

The melee combat doesn't have hit-stop, that's why. If you're wondering what hit-stop is, it's where the game will lag the animation of a melee strike for a couple frames or so upon making contact with an enemy's hitbox, to give it that feeling of weight and impact.

Reminds me of a game from a few years back named "Desolate ". Had similar themes: russian or soviet, supernatural anomalies and environmental effects, almost post apocalyptic because the anomalies warped the land and inhabitants, and potential larger government organization mysteries. In terms of gameplay, it seems like a mix of "Metro" and "Crysis" with hopefully linear or semi linear progression. "Desolate" was open world, but no matter how many mushroom forests, three story rib cages and experimental abomination with interesting locales, it didn't reach the height "Metro" did with interest. Seems like the setting and ideas worked out well enough for others to try a different approach with their own games, because "Desolate" did have that going for it. It is a mighty interesting game and unique setting. (Edit) Read the description after writing, it's "Desolate". The concept is effectively the same as "Desolate": plot, setting and multi-player aspects. It's a different approach, more faster paced with many gameplay differences but if someone described the two it would be hard to differentiate.
