I'm the other way around: I have used (and still do) Simple Postflop for years, and only recently also bought Piosolver. Agree with most or all you say. Some other points, from my personal experience. SP: - makes it very easy to alter your game tree on turn or river and recalc. You can just add a river bet size and resolve just the river. Or turn and river. Yes, in theory, flop play will differ when there's another river bet size, but doesn't really matter in the end. - easier to really perfect a game tree to your liking by editing and changing one particular node in one specific spot. For example: turn bet sizing options after a flop x/r that you wouldn't have without the flop x/r. Or different sizings based on whether the x/r is vs a small flop size or a bigger one. Etc... (can be done in Pio, but way more cumbersome). - easier to line up a bunch of unrelated hands (eg. hands for review from the previous day) for solving: just add them all to the "jobs" to be done and run while afk. Pio does it better for the same spot, but over a bunch of flops. Pio: - wins in aggregated reports - wins in range explorer.

You can also do the same treecutting in pio with ease by doing "create new subtree configuration". Also lining up multiple different sims to be solved in one go can be done in pio by making multiple scripts of 1 flops with diff settings and just copypasting all the files into one .txt file. However copypasting 20 files a day used to make me wanna jump off of a bridge.

Interesting. Why do you say Pio wins aggregated reports and range explorer? I thought SPF won on these hands down.
@mynameiskarl5 жыл бұрын
@@FindingEquilibrium 1. Aggregated reports: Looks like after all these years I still wasn't aware of all the options SP has to offer. Didn't even know you could aggregate on a flop node over multiple files. Will have to explore a bit more to see which one I like most. 2. What you mention at 10:55 is indeed a very convenient feature of SP. If the question is: how often do I bet my 2P+, FD, SD... then SP has a quick answer. If the question is: how many flushes does player X have in his range in a certain part of the game tree, then Pio's range explorer wins. (Just imo of course) Anyway, glad you made this video. As one of the only coaches actively using SP, I often get questions about 'which solver is the best one?'. Now I can refer everyone to this video.

Wrong conclusion. If somebody holds a gun to your head, you simply say 64.71% Simple Postflop, 35.07% Piosolver and 0.22% "Pull the trigger, I dare you."

"GTO+ offers one of the fastest GTO solving algorithms available today. Memory requirements are low and compression is applied on the fly." There is trial version of GTO+ which can solve flop Td9d6h without any limitations. Finding Equilibrium, can please test on your machine how fast it is?

GTO+ needs to be included in the mix. For its price point and vastly superior speed. User friendliness is way above these two and neither of these two compare to its seamless database function.

11:03 How do you get the 'strat' option under Show on Grid. In the current free version of PIO i don't see the option 'strat' under ev / eq. Did they remove the option?

Question: can an overall balanced strat still make money v someone who you know doesn’t bluff rivers almost ever but you still keep heroing best bluff catchers as part of GTO balance? Or is nodelocking v that specific player the only way to make money v him?

So my initial plan was to purchase the PioSolver basic program as it was the cheapest of the available gto software. After watching your video though it seems like simple postflop offers much better performance per dollar cost. If i did purchase the PioSolver basic would it be very detrimental in calculating decision trees, or is it worth the extra 50 to just get simple postflop? People also are inquiring about GTO+ on the comments and I wonder if you have any opinion on that. Overall great video.

I'm interested in getting the solver and start experience myself. But the Pio edge price is .. Really stiff.. Simplepostflop's price is more affordable. But I do see myself struggle with the learning curve to operate the solver. I do think the investment is really important, but I'm also concerned my pc won't be able to run the sims.. Anyway these videoes both from you and from Alvin is super nice, and I really appreciate these kind of videos. Thanks alot :D

I like your videos a lot. But why would a gun to your head influence the choice for either one of the solvers? The person new to the solvers does not know the best recommendation at that point. So he cannot verify your recommendation, at least not immediately.

@FindingEquilibrium5 жыл бұрын
There's trillions of spots in poker. You don't "memorize" spots using solvers any more than you "memorize" them if you learn in other ways. The difference is the solver tells you exactly what the optimal play is, but any other resource is making an educated guess (putting aside exploitative play, ICM, etc.). And there are plenty of mixed spots produced by solvers which allows for plenty of "creative" play.
