You get the absolute best tones from your guitar. Sounds perfect.

Played this with my surf band back in the 60's and was a blast to play (still is!). I always felt this song really captured the essence of the sport of surfing like no other. Thanks for your perfectly executed rendition.

Speaking for the minority here, I only vaguely recognized this tune, I didn't know it or the Chantays by name, and knowing very little of Johnny Thunders I didn't know his version either. But your lessons continually broaden my horizons. Little did I know when I googled "Cinnamon Girl guitar lesson" so very long ago that I'd end up learning surf music and rockabilly in the bargain. I started working on this one today, a great fun tune, and another great lesson.

Thanks to your surf videos I’ve totally gotten into this genre now. So much fun! And you can tell the surfy bear people I bought one of their pedals because of you 😊

Back to listening to this again and I think you still have the best, closes to the original version on KZbin....although I like the different versions by other You Tube guitarists, also.

Love the "surf guitar" sound! Reminds me of the type of music my older brother played back in the early-mid 60's. I'd like to hear about that red Vox amp you have.

Hey, thanks for posting this! I've been trying to learn this song for a couple of weeks now. I was wondering when you were going to post this on your channel, lol! I learned how to play Link Wray's "Rumble" watching your channel. Some of these songs aren't as easy to learn as they sound. I used play punk rock tunes and that was pretty straightforward but surf guitar is a bit different because it forces me to actually slow down and learn how to play. Thanks again!

I think guitarist accents the first note of the slide down then tremolo picks down to the 5th fret and cuts it off there, on the first open E note on the downbeat.

I am trying to learn to play this and I am having some difficulty learning the descending glissando for the rhythm part. I am wondering if you could suggest an approximate tempo to set my metronome at to practice my tremolo picking. I am one of those fellows who has a hard time walking and chewing gum at the same time.
