Firing up the engine for a VFR departure from KFXE!

Hi all, for any students watching, one caution: pumping the throttle (as done here to prime the engine) should only be done while the engine is cranking so that the fuel can be sucked into the cylinders. Otherwise, the fuel dribbling down inside the intake manifold can create risk of an engine fire. Please use the plunger primer to the left of the throttle quadrant instead! Fly safe! Thanks snowy! I've been wondering about 172 startup procedures. I've never been in one but I've seen a cockpit sim replica and it does look pretty different. The Warriors definitely have loud generator sounds though haha. I was flying solo in this one, thanks for the comment!

Would love to hear what you are doing as you do it and perhaps why (aside from it being in the checklist). I've flown a fair few warrior many years back. So have forgotten most of the checklists. I now use Xplane to fly them and would love to know what I'm doing and why.

Just seen this video. I'm completing my NAVs at the moment on the warrior. Just wondering why you use the throttle to prime as opposed to the primer?
