Captain Block's instructions to Toody about how to get to Police HQ on Centre Street in Manhattan were slightly off. He was correct that Toody needed to take a Lexington Avenue subway train (today's 4,5 and 6 lines) but there is no Centre Street station. Toody would have to get off at Brooklyn Bridge station and walk a few blocks south. The police HQ is still there on Centre Street, by the way!

Centre Street doesn't run south of Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall tho (merges with the end of Park Row). What Toody would need to do is take the Lex line to Canal St., walk a block east to Centre, and head north a few blocks to the (then) police headquarters building (now an apartment building), at 240 Centre.
