What a useful video - I love that it comes with a bottom plate which makes it much easier to install. I've got a little she shed just 86 sq feet, this seems perfect. Maybe I can put it in a suitcase next time I travel to the UK? Closest US comparison seems to be the Sardine Wood Stove, which has a long wait time and costs a lot more

That's pretty much what I'm looking for.. I like the style of it too... I've got a class A motor home across the way Stateside in Pennsylvania... Propane is a bit expensive to run in the winter which is why I'm looking for a good wood stove... Multi fuel stove is even that much better... Lots of coal in my neck of the woods... Great video by the way... Will subscribe to see more videos... Now to see if I can get one here somehow...

Only thing with a small stove is It's going to use small logs, you will need to feed it with small sticks or twigs Continuously attending it to keep your logs burning. A good wood burning stove will re-burn the smoke, known as secondary burn. this type of fire will burn less wood run hotter and give you an overnight burn, but it's a nice looking stove. I hope you don't mind this comment but i build and repair wood stoves for a living.. I have been playing with fire all my life.. looking forward to your van build. 👍🏻🚐🇬🇧

Did i see that right, that the burner ist bolted to the plate? Unscrew them, use the plate as drill pattern to the van, put long screws with large washers from the underside through the plate into the burner`s body, that will go nowhere! As alternative, if the feet of the plate are massive, drill them out and cut a thread into them or drill them through and bolt the whole burner down with some u-shaped steel bars from underneath the van floor... Nice little thing! :-)

This is very interesting. I was going to go for a propex 1600,but now I have to rethink... The only problem is my van has a fibre top roof. Probably wont hold the heat. And also of course,stealth camping on streets is o it the window, as people would see the smoke and smell coming off it. On the constructive crit side, Any chance of you investing a few bob in a clip on microphone? :)
@CamperVanHandyMan
@CamperVanHandyMan 7 жыл бұрын
I have thought about this a lot, how to disguise the flue on the roof, I may just have it protruding out of the roof a few inches and attach an extension with the cowel/spark arrestor on each time we use it. Smokeless coal can be used in built up areas too. Still working on the stealth bit though, so watch this space lol. I know nothing about fibre top roofs so can offer no advice :-( I will look at how much them microphones are though, all my pennies going into the van atm though , Thanks for watching, Atb, Jay

Nice. Where are you planning to put this in your van and i take it you will need to source the flue separately. Wanted one of these in our van but insurance company said no. Incidentally just wild camped in manchester this last weekend shame we don't know where your situated could of called to say hello and get a closer look at your build. Keep it going Jay you will soon be done. Cheers Steve from Runcorn

Hey Steve, Thanks for watching, I had already bought lots of frontier stove flue bits for a previous burner I bought off ebay that is 'poop' so going to try and use those first before buying any more. Not decided where we are putting it just yet, we did know before but the plan has changed with the deciding to install a loo ! it means we have to re-design everything now.... Mainly because I put the ceiling fan in and now realize it is in the way of where the little loo/shower room needs to be, but it is my first ever build and these things happen ! Was originally just going to be a tiny sit bath to shower in under the seating area. Very close to starting the inside now too. Runcorn is not far at all, let us know when you are next wild camping :-0 Is that in a van or a tent ? Atb, Jay

In our van we built from april to July. Been wild camping now each weekend more or less. Just done Dovestone Res and stayed in Holmsfirth a few weeks back. Really nice area there.

3KW and you'll be just in your underpants. Looks so good. It just made my shortlist and I never wanted a log burner. You could put a seat cushion on the box it came in!

Four and a half minutes before we see the product. Too much irrelevant spiel about rock all mate. BORING. Thumbs down from me. And the guitar music was irritating.
