THis is a realy wonderful review. Maybe I have been living under a rock but CAWPILE is new to me and i loved it. Love how much you love the character and could separate that from some of the dumb logic etc. id have given atmosphere 10! but agree everywhere else.

Thank you so much!! CAWPILE is such a great rating system! And it involves a spreadsheet 🤩🤩 I’ve linked the original video from Bookroast about it in my description box if you want to check out more about it. She just released a new one this year with some more features too.

I am the same as far as hyped up books. Also one of the reasons I am so hesitant to DNF is because some times you will end up really enjoying the book. I found this with Dust by Joan Frances Turner. I wasn't a fan for the first 200 pages then I ended up absolutely loving it.

I just finished reading this book yesterday! Kismet! I fell in love with Piranesi, too. I do love magical realism, especially Borges of course, so I appreciated this one. But maybe I'm prejudiced because I take notes in a commonplace book not unlike Our Hero. HA.

I’ve never read Borges but just looked him up and definitely looks good!! Which one would you recommend starting with??

I ignored the hall names, but I did pay attention to the month and day. It only goes from May to September, I think. I think Piranesi loves the House, so it's hard for him to leave it. The House is God, the provider. The wave the killed The Other is the climax for me, and the most powerful scene. I thought it was either silly or a clever joke when he was absorbed thinking about what he had forgotten. Aren't we all prisoners of our own lives? Your math teacher was a dick. Learn math. It's amazing, and not only because it predicts "real-world" stuff. Black holes are the obvious example. Read THE SOUL GENE!
