Did you choose not to monitize? Because google still puts ads even if you dont get a cut. I personally use the money for giveaways since i just upload for fun.

Correct. I'm aware Google pushes ads regardless. & That's a great idea for giveaways! -- That's what I do with any Twitch Sub money I get, etc. But there's also the concern that part of my streams/style is that I play lots of music that does get copyright-flagged, but read "no affect until you monetize this video." I'm sure if I flipped YT ads on the 30 or so artists each VoD would be splitting the ~$2 or whatever I made from that that they're already splitting from pre-rolls. I doubt I'd get much if anything and I don't want to flip a switch that can't be un-flipped if for some reason "monetizing" my YT content means I can no longer play amazing rock music lol. I really wish KZbin still had the finer-tune & per video monetization options that they have since removed. If that were the case I'd think about monetizing the edited videos I do because those take massively more effort proportionally as you gave said in some of your videos. But the real reasons are a) That I do this for fun & dun really care rn & b) I really REALLY don't want to degrade the viewing experience for my viewers from what it is now it is now for streams, especially if YT ads continue to escalate as they seem to be and there's no going back. 🙄 Oh & edit/PS: I'm still figuring out which songs are hard-block-not-ok-to-play, and as I said in the video the amount / position of these seems pretty random as well. And it seems to differ from live streams vs VoDs. But anything by Sony's distribution subsidiary Sony Music Entertainment (SME) seems like it's pretty radioactive. 😂

@GW2Pseudo yeah I can tell from the last few vod uploads you've struggled to figure out what's the deal with copywriting. There are a couple different solutions, first things first: you can choose not to monetize a video even if your channel is monetized, secondly copywrites are kind of a bitch altogether but minor editing can be done (likely easier than what you're already doing) they have vocal isolation filters in capcut that will wipe all of your background music out. So for live streams you can still jam, and for youtube you can find some decent NCS music to add to the vod after vocal isolation. Not sure how much post processing youre already doing but re uploading and re uploading has got to be a pain in the butt. Us youtube enjoyers sure do appreciate it though.

@@SilhouetteGaming1 I'll look into capcut. I was looking for a decent vocal isolation filter because the one on YT when you are allowed to "muste just a song" is infinitely better than running the whole VoD through audacity. I have some NCS songs that are pretty safe, but could always use more. The bigger bottleneck is my upload speed. I barely get 8mbps so it takes about 5h to upload a 2.5 video like that. And when I have to that multiple times + render it multiple times AGAIN, because surprise the 10s of Bloody Power Fame that I've been using as an intro song literally forever gets surprise Blocked as well, you wind up with a full delay like Monday's VoD. -- That's why I wish there was a tool by KZbin (or similar) where you could run a file through it *before* uploading to scan for hard copyright strikes/blocks. Seems like a better solution for YT having to avoid more actual manual DMCA requests as well, because each one essentially costs the $ in review. Weirdly I even checked with my Marketing Buddies from work & there doesn't seem to be such a thing out there mainstream. + I'm not sure what database YT uses, but whatever it is it's definitely different than Twitch because different things always get flagged / muted on each. But yeah I'll keep at it tho! 😄 Thx for the suggestion!!

@GW2Pseudo yeah, I personally do all of my recording without background audio, and add in voice and music in post. I know vocal isolation is a "pro" feature but you can test it to see if it works before purchasing the pro sub (it's $80 x year). Twitch and youtube definitely have different flags, and most of which including your usage of music should be covered under fair use as far as the law is concerned but google is probably overly sensitive to copywrite issues. It takes me about an 50 minutes to upload my 15 minute videos so I knew you were getting destroyed having to pull it, edit out a clip, and then re upload. Absolute annoyance.

Streaming already makes almost 0 financial sense for companies. So I'm almost definitely a "financial loss" for them, at least for now. So I know the Faustian bargain I'm making with our archaic copyright system lol.
