I was jailed that night, I was expecting to be exed. I knew everyone was confirmed, and the Jailor got roleblocked and couldn't exe me. So I was just laughing and really, I was messing about at this point. No legit play at the end, it was me messing around.

I know everyone will die on a hill for their selection, but I personally always go pistol as pirate. By far my highest success rate. My justification is people expect the first one because that's the afk one, the middle one is too obvious because people like symmetry, so I always go for the last one

Well, I just had one pirate game where I won 4 out of 7 duels by spamming the scimitar. Maybe this was a one in thousand match tho.

I always use the afk option; It’s the same option i do in rock paper scissors. I say “I’m going rock” then go rock everytime. It’s in the mindgames

I use the strategy of "your next move tonight will be insert other move" in whispers they will almost always Not use that one. So it lowers it to 50 50 instead of the original chance

When an AFK person is pirated, it picks their last defense. If they have never been pirated before, i believe it is Skimm-itar that they choose.

Idk what the meta is, but I feel like on N1, chainmail is least likely to be chosen because it's smack dab in the middle staring you in the face. I think choosing one of the ones on the side is going to make players feel like they are making a safer decision even if it really isn't any different. N2 onwards though I don't think it matters, because the player already knows one of the options have been done already and the pirate is likely to switch things up from before.

I did pistol for an entire game and killed everyone. People usually pick left for sure Side not: I hate when evils give up and admit they are evil. Like even tho you are going to lose doesn’t mean you can’t get away with it by a sliver of hope. Always try.

One tactic I’ve seen is to whisper a person saying I’m pirate and I’m choosing this. So they would be less likely to use it and give you a 50 50

Telling town out loud what your going to pick makes them think it's reverse psychology and then you win

Agreed. Saying you're going to pick it acts as a reverse phycology, they won't believe you, which means they won't pick that, meaning that t h e n you have a 50/50 chance

In less wild gamemodes, where it's just coven/mafia vs town or just any simple game mode like that, it's best to work for the Jailor

The pirate meta is pretending that pirate meta exists and shouting that you know it to everyone you meet. Also whispering "choose x" (with x being their defensive option) to mindgame yourself and them.

How to win has pirate: Ask someone whos going to die to chose chainmail Then u target them and use rapier 👌 Edit: ambusher can be one of the worst mafia or one of the best It's honestly high risk but no so big of a reward...

The real strength of it is you can kill lone TP or LO later in the game even if you don't know their name. Early and uncoordinated it is hard to do well though...

The thing with pirate is the same as those TV shows with: "guess which door brings you fortune", the real thing to realise is that you don't have a 1/3 chance of winning, but rather that it is a 2/3 chance of losing. A logic riddle thingy, forgot it's name, also has a very good explanation for why looking at it as 2/3 chances of losing actually gives you a higher capacity of winning, rather than hunting that 1/3 chance of winning. Basically: 1. Think of what you'd do when pirated, good, now rule that out. 2. Think of what you'd do when pirated, now rule out a second time. 3. Choose the one option left. It's perhaps the one that the pirate went for. Same as pirate.

my pirate tactic is to just take that 33% chance until I get a plunder, but when I do get that plunder I change my deathnote to: I plundered with `___` so people wont likely pick that option the next night, therefore making the next plunder a 50% chance of winning instead of a 33%

Pirate Tactic: choose 1 of the 3 options and pray, 33% of the times works everytime, trust me 9:43 "Fault", thats the word you need (i think)

I mean, not exactly RNG. You can use psychology. For instance, someone dies, said they were backpedaling in their will. He used the pistol last night, he probably won't use it tonight, so I will now backpedal. It's not guaranteed, but it could work if you know how to spin it.

its simply because it would have been impossible to kill the Jailor as he would have had powerful defence from the crusader/ it would have also have killed him also from the crusader. Its also easier to get the town to give you a pity win if you help them throughout the game let alone when if you get the Jailor on your side.

@@Warcrafter4 Pirate only has to WIN the duel. He doesn't have to successfully kill the target. If Skimm had pirated the jailor and won, even assuming jailor had TP on him, Skimm would have won at that point even though the jailor didn't die because he already had a duel win prior and he would have won the duel against the jailor.

I usually side with town as Pirate since the game starts off with more of them and I just want the game to end quicker. One game I pirated a confirmed Coven, won the duel and got killed by a Crusader who was protecting them. I somehow won 4 duels that game. I dunno if the last one counts since I died but it said I won lol
