I really do like being a privateer, it gives enough damage to keep up with your crewmates but having all those buffs and heals available really makes the difference on the harder fights.

I like privy a lot bc of the buffs, especially on team fights, my problem with it is when you have to solo.

Privateers are at least the best class at PVP, this is sadly a PVE oriented tier list.

So late to this thread but here I go lol The privateer disrespect in here is crazy. Privy is by far the most valuable class as a teammate. Also the meta might be different these days but privy has long been considered the best pvp class or at least tied with musk. I agree with it being the most painful to solo, it’s a primarily defensive and supportive class so it plays much slower - though you rarely ever lose or die. With a shrinking player base solo play is a more prominent issue. But it’s at the very least better than swash which is invalidated by all the fs3 mobs, lacks buffs/debuffs, and lacks strong AOE options. Swash doesn’t do anything best except single target nuke damage (assuming no fs3) but that’s not a very valuable niche in this game.

Whirlyburly and pet derby in wiz are pretty strong contenders for deadest activity too imo.

Swash was my first and ive played every single class its so fun wish the game devs introduced more varieties and epic talents tho but i understand how too many talents can become too much to handle

I actually had no issues when soloing at a Witch Doctor, I just had to team up on the harder dungeons. but I made my companions always had a change to attack if an enemy comes close to them.

My hot take: I'd actually rank Privateer above Swashbuckler. The problem with the Swashbuckler class is that most melee units have FS3 which makes your hide useless. The class doesn't have a lot of debuff like Buccaneer with their charges. Their selling point is just the dodge and high damage they provide. Meanwhile, Privateer is super versatile with their playstyle. At max, you can basically use shooty weapons with OW3 while also utilizing the scratch mojo buffs that allows you to consistently deal big damage (using mojo blast or bombs) from certain gears that doesn't need you to be an onfielder. Also, the buffs and heals are quite handy when you need it that stands out from most classes. Overall, I find Privateer to be the most comfortable class to play.

I’ve been wanting to make a privy as my third class. It took my a week to max out a swash - record time for me and the FS3 from mobs wasn’t too much of an issue if you play properly.

I’ve maxed every class and musk was my fav has been since I was 9 I’m now 20 which is crazy but I Also like buck they just straight lace every problem in front of them now for privy I feel like the whole class just works against it’s self either you go for spells and nullify your melee combat abilities or you go for melee combat and nullify your spells if you go hybrid you’ll just do both poorly compared to other classes witch doctors are cool but you gotta kill everyone before they lay a finger on you and swashbucklers lack versatility they do one thing and that’s it they have like a couple buffs and meh poisons they could use a buff

I make my witch kinda of a support where it buffs up with scratch and heal if need be if not just damage everything kinda like white mage play style on final fantasy

True, but it still doesn't change the fact therr are classes that outperform or provide better utility in PvE. A musket-Witch-Swash combo is deadly and is the meta class choice.

There isn’t a bad class in the game Witch is as easy anything, honestly would say it’s probably the second easiest class right next to Musket. AoE attacks with scratch buffs are just as viable as anything any other class has to offer.

If your relying on your base class only no access to the other classes then for most of this list I can agree on the ranking, but if your able to multi class this list would be a lot different and also a lot longer. 😂

Witchdoctor became completely garbage as soon as the devs nerfed the Scratch buffs to shit. Will never forgive them for that.

Musketeer is definitely OP, but mostly after you’ve farmed quite a bit. You def had some OP gear to beat Kane and Hydra first time no deaths. I think Bucc is better if you don’t already have OP gear

@ Group scratch is still better than just chaining attacks. Especially with the new end game having stupid high accuracy and dodge. Not getting close, and doing big damage is the meta.

Out all the school I had it harder solo on privy more then any other witchdoctor it's easy to solo most fight in the other worlds in Aquila the only fight you really need a team for is the hydra after that it's easy privy was the only pirate I had a harder time on the school easy.

Ahoy, Pluto or Young Wizard!!! I started playing Pirate101 recently because Wizard101 just gets boring and you have to search for ridiculous equipment that makes your class lose its identity. IF I have to choose between the two games, I prefer Pirate because it is more FUN and the graphics of the game are great, the story, the humor of the characters and the ships. this game has very good potential, but let's hope they increase the team behind it, because they can't even make a new Skyway or a whole world "IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE". I ranked the classes like this: 1. Musketeer ~ just because of Bonnie Anne she is CUTE OMG!!!! (Just kidding, it's so much more than that, the epics of this class are amazing!!!! ) 2. Swashbuckler ~ Assassin's Creed VIBES + hiding in the shadows is great mechanic. 3. Witchdoctor ~ a big SURPRISE, and yeah it is a big STRUGGLE to play with not to mention trying to go solo, but the class itself is very interesting just like a Necromancer from Wizard101. 4. Privateer ~ STRUGGLE to play with. 5. Buccaneer ~ I didn't like this class because it is too tanky, it has good damage and companions, but it lacks on certain things. Thank you so much for this guide, it is very helpful! :)

People been saying Musketeer is the worst class. I'm kinda new to the Pirate101 and find Swashbuckler to be the best. I don't see why they say Musketeer is the worst, I had the most fun with Musketeer

Correction, after a lot more gameplay. I had Witch Doctor 5th, and Privateer 4th. The rest are really overpowered compared to the other two, I had Buccaneer 3rd, Swashbuckler 2nd, and Musketeer 1st. I find Musketeer outshining Swashbuckler just by a little bit because the amount of abilities they have compared to everyone. i didn't even use Old Scratch as Musketeer and I still complete battles with no issues (Except that one in Mooshu where you have to hit a gong before attacking anyone, I'm sure you all know that battle)

Ok, privateer in worst if you’re trying to solo, bucc and swash are really close, musk is slightly better, SHOOTY STAFFY WITCH IS OVERPOWERED

The best out of all classes is going to be a three way tie of Witch-Musket-Swash. Start with one of these classes, and choose Lost+Krokotopia (nat. Spooky for spell dmg), you should be set, obviously choose the class after you picked Lost+Krok in your character origination story. There may be an exception if you want nat. dodgy for swashbuckler for story, but Krok for spell damage is universal.
