I'm at 7:22 and I'm really hoping you will still bring up how Tezuka took a terrible deal to get some of his anime made which set an unfortunate precedent where anime workers are under paid
@HanmaHeiroАй бұрын
To be clear. It's not so much Tezuka's fault. His anime probably wouldn't have gotten made because the studio heads didn't believe in such early anime. Those Studio heads suck

8:15 that would be interesting besides miyazaki's reputation of making amazing movies the onlything i know about him is that he had almost everything including a weird hate of lord of the rings because he believed for some reason that it was pro war and potrayed the good west vs the evil east or something like that (ironically him and tolkien are both anti-war and hate almost everything)
@piratediaries572Ай бұрын
Awesome! Glad it interests you. I’ll definitely add it to the short list & Yeah I can see why that is a confusing take from Miyazaki. His moral philosophy is complicated but most of it comes from Trauma and experiences from his childhood & also how he feels like art has real world effects but that doesn’t mean everyone interprets said art the same so again it’s complicated nuances but super interesting. I didn’t see LOTR as he did but we also have very different life experiences. Him & Tolkien are both passionate & I bet if they had a chance to talk to each other, they would agree on a surprisingly number of topics.

This Gurren Lagann did in 27 episodes what most anime can't do in a couple of seasons. Gurren Lagann is literally what every Shonen anime wishes to be.

Well said. Gurren Lagann is the most inane 0-1000 story but doesn’t feel rushed. It’s perfectly paced and still hits those emotional sweet spots, and plot pay offs and then ends. One of the best for sure.
