Risk on travelling merchant ship is piracy attack different parts of the word. Now the attacking area reduced to east & west African coasts. These seem to be ex Indian Army Gurkha Nepali soldiers. That is enough. These Gurkha are the absolute bravest best fighters in the world. They fight till last bullet last man, and after bullets are finished, they fight with their Gurkha Khukhri till death. No stopping a Gurkha. Instead of 7.62 x 51, the rifle ought to be a higher calibre longer distance one.

every ship passing follows the same procedure.containers ship dont need razor wire due to high draught. yes we use only our fire hose as water cannons and full engines doing over 25knots minimum. or ships with low draught, hire security guards.

The more they could possibly know the better. It's an overt operation not covert. We stand obvious and mount all razor wire and hoses even dummies in positions to deter attack. Being silent and covert defeats the purpose and allows pirates to approach vessels and put the fear of god into the crew. The reality is pirates have washing machines and TVs stacked up on shore, they have no electricity and certainly no internet. Team Leader armed maritime security since 2012.
