Almost 12 years after release, still a killer demo.

God i miss those days, walking through isles, looking for games, trying new games out. looking at intros, never forgotten - thats why i still keep my amiga 500 and 1200 in my closet, i take it out from time to time at least ones a year and boot it up, puts smile on my face... 80s and early 90s!

Thank you for this very cool demo.. 80k, 64k, 4k, however large or small... you guys are truly coding wizards.... You've transported me to my 12 year old self on my amiga, where I could watch the parallax scrolling text in all of its wondrous rainbow glowing colors and read your greetings to all the other groups till the very end where I'd be reminded to "press escape to skip and begin game" :) ...This music is better than most of the shit I hear today, maybe its become I'm old... which is true... lol, but what's good is good... and this, like so many other talented groups, never cease to delight our senses..

RZR predates the 9/11 attacks. It's mostly for the "god" joke, because all the lame kids back then were running around with "666" or "satan/lucifer" in their user handles so they went with it instead to be unique amongst the trash.

since the group was created in 1985, I think "1911" is not related to the WTC events :D

This seriously has to be my favorite chiptune of all time, nevermind how awesome the demo is - this song is so unfuckingbelievably catchy, and I'm putting it on repeat from now until the end of time - when my CMOS battery dies.

The lighting effects are so nice. Back in college I used to download demos from pounet. The computers were very low spec, however would run demos fine but via reboot. Seriously impressive coding & smooth framerate.

@StudyOfWumbology right, well i haven't heard of 4mat before, i found his tunes on a bit-music site recently, but I've been into demo's so called since the C64 so lets say... hmmm 1985 onwards..
Razor was always there, I am pretty sure even before the computer was invented. Rumours say that the computer was only invented to make sure their talents were not wasted.

Because in my amazement of how awesome razor is i missed typed it. 0x1911 is indeed written in decimal as 6417 (good google search ;) ) but i ment to say 1911 is in hex 777 (actually 0x777 bu you get the point) And i got this many thumbs ups because all those people could figure this simple thing out themselfs, and still liked my comment.

If you go to their site and look under "history" it details the number: "The reason is that the scene on Commodore C64 was full of brainless kids who, for some odd reason, enjoyed using 666... So we chose 1911 because it translates to $777 (in the hexadecimal numbersystem). 777 happens to be the opposite of 666 and so it was our small "grow-up-and-get-a-clue"-message to the immature kids in the scene.

It's also IIRC also related to Octal. o777 in Unix is the file properties setting that lets all users have universal read/write/delete access, which if applied by a hacker to something which should have more restricted settings has obvious piratical implications. h777 doesn't mean a great deal by itself, unless you either have a love of medium grey (Amiga/STe) or pure white (ST) colour... Could be wrong on that, mind, so if anyone wants to correct and further enlighten me, go ahead...
@fredericmeyer34697 жыл бұрын
also 777hex is 1911 in decimal so it's obviously a reference to their name. especially since they made the 1911 up by converting 777 from hex to dec lol

also we have 7 oceans and razor sailed on all those oceans 3 times. thats is 7*3=21 and 21 is the half of 42. 42 is the answer to life, universe and everything. That means Razor is the half answer to life, universe and everything. The question is: Who is the other half? Skidrow?

actually 777 is in HEX and if you convert it to decimal it's 1911. You're right, 777 should be more "adult" than 666, but in this special case it's a reference to the "Seven Seas" that every real pirate should sail ;) [/captainObvious]

Razor is not from 1911, the 1911 stands for 777 1911 is a Hexadecimal, when you convert it to decimal its 777. the 777 seas reference to joke the 666 hype of the devil back in 80's thumps up

NO. 1911 is actually 777. 0x777 is only literation made for compilers to understand what type of number You enter. It means that You enter Hexadecimal. so 0x777 is actually 1911 in decimal. In pure matematics You don't use those 0x . Mayan were counting in twenties so how you use their system? 0mayaJ4? (J4 = 24) no. So dont say someone is wrong.

actually it's the other way round: 777 is the hexadecimal that equals 1911 when converted to our common decimalism (7x16^0+7x16^1+7x16^2=1911). if you converted the hexadecimal 1911 into a number from the decimal system, you'd get 6417. (because in the hexadecimal system, as the name suggests, there are 16 digits until you get to the next digit - you usually use the letters A to F for the decimal numbers 10 to 15. so 10 would equal 16, and FF would equal 255 in the decimal system for example.)
