Did no one know that Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom said they didn't want to continue POTC? And this is a sequel not a prequel, otherwise at the end of POTC3 he wouldn't have looked at the map with the Fountain of Youth on it. This fourth installment looks amazing though, can't wait for it.

In the third film at the end the map shows the fountain of youth in the second film it shows that they will go at the world's end at the first film they said about the dead man's chest So every film was preparing for the next... :D

I think I read somewhere that Orlando and Kiera decided that their characters storyline had gone as far as it could and that's why they are not going to be in it. I'm surprised though! I thought it wouldn't be very good, but (with the exception of zombies because that sounds ridiculous) it looks like it will be great!

Still can't believe that Disney nearly didn't let Johnny do his version of Captain Jack. But they acquiesced in the end! ;P One thing I love about Pirates is the music. At least, the first Pirates. It's nearly the same with Harry Potter. They rehash the main music and it's never as good as the original. They need to create more original music to go with the main themes, not just replay the main themes in a different key.

While I'm as excited to see Jack again as any other Depp fan, I was never very in favor of there being another Pirates film. At World's End was the perfect ending to a great trilogy and this just feels like the kind of penny-pushing fluff they incorporate into every Hollywood blockbuster. I'm definitely seeing it, but I'm sure it's gonna be a totally different experience. And I'm kind of irked about Jack having a love interest, even though I like Penelope :X

@Billy193 hey just letting u know its the same composer. hans zimmer. also the same writers and producers. pretty much everyone is the same behind the camera except the director. i think it will be differnt but at the same time have the pirate feeling we all know. so should still have same vibe and feel. a new director is what this franchise might need. i new fresh person in the mix.

@foul01 i'm to agree with you. I feel some like this film is just because of Jack and totally about Jack so it's more like Jack Sparrow of the Caribbean now, a different film. Jack is an important and a great character and he has been a point, but not the only point as too many people believe... I think it's wrong. Besides Jack we see nothing here - neither memorable scenes nor characters... I hope I'll be wrong. We'll see.

@AdaDeFuego Truth. I don't think Johnny Depp can carry this movie on his own, and I don't really know if I like Penelope Cruz's character. I will go see it though...at the local theatre where matinees are only $3.
