THIS scene. It shows that Jack is deeply intelligent who messes with his opponents, always staying one step ahead. In my opinion, this kind of cleverness was never shown in the new Dead Men Tell No Tales. It's sad, really.

Wasn't there a scene of Barbossa talking to the bald witch in which she mentions that she cursed all of his enemies under his request? Jack had ridiculous luck besides his cleverness, maybe he got cursed too so he's not as lucky anymore??

Dead men Tell No Tales depicts the fall of Jack Sparrow. He is drunk all the time, really doesn't care anymore about anything, not using his brain. And at one time someone tells him that his luck run out. Well, apparently, it didn't. This is Dead Men Tell No Tales. It is good. Not epic, but good.

@linusmota97125 жыл бұрын
too bad the two most recent movies flanderized him
@Halo687doesminecraft4 жыл бұрын
@Emperor Ssraeshza To be fair his wackiness can be easily explained in 3 because he shows signs during multiple times in the movie of being that witty mastermind instead of that parody, and the wackiness can be passed off as a trauma/insanity from the locker. He was already having hallucinations, mood changes are definitely to be expected, and the second one was kinda dull just in the fact that there was nothing to really mastermind. It was just a chasing movie, find the dutchman. Find the key. Annoying subplots. 1 and 3 were the big movies, especially 3 with everyone working with and around Beckett's deals. We got to see Jack's genius, just in a different way, the last few movies have squandered that which was a shame because Salazar's character was actually super interesting but the movie itself not only contradicted the lore (with the compass) but held jack to the "I'm a wacko parody of myself" again.
@_maestro71684 жыл бұрын
@Emperor Ssraeshza what are you even talking about we still have his genius throughout the whole trilogy? he escapes a torture prison with the key to his salvation, tricked a tribe into thinking he was a god, is already manipulating Will into getting said key the moment he sees him again, is the only one to realize how to escape from the locker, escapes from the most powerful and guarded ship in the Caribbean, and his original plan of stealing the heart nearly worked, and at least fucked over Davy Jones. even in stranger tides he escaped from king george's fuckin palace, I don't think you can really top that. he's always had that hint of luck with his genius, like how he escaped the first time Barbossa marooned him, with a rum-runner ship. and again thanks to Elizabeth. the fact Will saved his life at all was pure luck

His name is Ian Burke. He was born when his mother had an affair with a pirate. Both of his “fathers” abandoned him. His mother was hung. He was raised by a fisherman named Peter Bradford. When Ian was old enough he joined the British navy to kill his pirate father for everything he did. After years of serving below deck he worked his way up the ranks. On this particular day he saw his chance to prove himself as a pirate killer and impress commodore Norrington. He knew it was a long shot to swing to the other boat but he felt fate was smiling on him that day. You know the rest

just for those who dont understand (like a young me when i first saw this) what makes this scene so brilliant and tells us how caluclated Jack Sparrow is... as Sam says, two men cant get the sails unfurled and be able to adjust them so the ship can turn around, Jack knows this so after Sam and his crew are in the lifeboat, Jack deliberatly makes it look like they are struggeling, Comodor Norington then rolls up with his ship with full sails and made ready for sailing, so when the crew switches ships, jack and will can be on their merry way, with all the difficult heavy lifting bits done... but this is where the key is, commodore Norington had his crew put the sails to full, in an attmempt to turn it, and if not able to sink it, he could at least give chase, albeit by the time they turned it would of been a push, Jack obviosuly knew this, so his best choice, disable the rudder chain so he is not in range of the cannons and B, that ship cant chase him. this is whats so good about it... he didnt just steal the ship, he got the other crews to make it easy for him to steal, without them even knowing

Jack's smile as the Interceptor begins catching up to them is so damn good. It's all coming together for him, and he loves seeing people act predictably and exploitably.

As a security supervisor for a large manufacturer I can say that this scene is very realistic. It's up to the officers to prevent this from happening(such as keeping small handful of that force on the interceptor) but in the event of great importance I've seen regulations dropped more than once.

1:06 'The devil is in the Details'. I bet many people never paid attention to Jack tying the crabtrap around the Dauntless' rudder, disabling the Man o'War. "Do you think he plans it out, or just makes it up along the way". Definately the latter, but that only proves his magnificent brilliance!

If it had been a corvette ( 26 to 30 guns) I would have. But since it was a brig not really. It only had 16 guns. That's why It was so outmatched against a galleon like the black pearl and her 32 12 pound cannons

I remember when this came out I was just a kid in elementary school, and for about 2 weeks straight at school at recess I started Pirates of The Caribbean and literally had everyone involved (my grade was mixed with the grade above us) and in total I think out of the 120 some kids about 1/3 - 1/2 of them were playing Pirates with me. I was Jack of course and we were doing basically the battle of the Black Pearl vs Flying Dutchman from the 2nd movie and it was great. I’ll never forget those days and that was about 10-12 years ago
@fakefakefakefakefakepotato94662 жыл бұрын
days that we'll never see again... kids these days don't play these kind of made-up playground-battle games outside anymore, like we did, because they can just do it all online on video games. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but there definitely is something to be missed about imagining a huge battle with ur friends when in reality you've just got a couple of sticks and some swings... we traded imagination and creativity for instantaneous shock and awe
