You say that, but a lot of pirate ships had strict rules. Go through various pirates of history. They didn't have any special quarters and any member of the crew had the right to challenge them if they didn't think they were doing a good job. I can't remember his name, but there was one who refused to have rapists as part of his crew and banned his men from bringing prostitutes onboard. At the time he made that rule, neither prostitution or rape was illegal. I'm not saying that all of them were gentlemen, but, despite their reputation, there were some whose morals were good and literally had a code. Kind of like Captain Jack, really. You look into deleted scenes and his past and you see how moralistic he is

One main advantage of the Black Pearl is its colour. The fact that the attack happened at night, the Pearl’s colours are able to blend with the darkness. The Royal Navy can barely hit a cannon fire at it.

When John Kruger was trying to save Dr. Lee Cullen and at the same time was trying to stop Robert DeGuerin from loading a giant shipping crate full of rail guns onto a freighter, Deguerin grabbed his pistol, pointed it at Kruger and said "Say Goodbye John!" Kruger then used a crowbar to latch onto a gear as part of the pulley system that was lifting the shipping crate, he then told DeGuerin "Goodbye!" and then Kruger destroyed the pulley system using the crowbar causing the Shipping Crate to crash back down onto the ground.

What this movie understood what the others didn’t is one crucial thing, PIRATES WEREN’T GOOD GUYS. At best they were greedy backstabbing scum backs, and more often the were murderous rapists that killed who they pleased for shoots and giggles. Jack was cool, but his group represented the former and the black pearl represented the latter
