I don't like the White Sox winning because I want them to set the record for both most losses and worst winning% in a season in the modern era. If they go 6-15, or worse, the rest of the way, they accomplish both things, but every win gets them closer to a winning streak and not doing those things.

Agree. No chance he comes out with an 11 run lead. Goal is to win first then give the pitcher a chance for history. You aren’t jeopardizing number 1 by leaving him in with an 11 run lead. Maybe if the lead was 5-6 but even then you only need six outs. Once he gives up a hit you pull him.

Yeah, usually in a no-no or perfect game, there is one great play that saves it, but not here. The closest was probably the Taylor lineout to Happ in the 2nd, but that wasn't that spectacular of a play.

The Pirates reached base due to a player's error. Those errors do not go against the pitcher.

In instances where you would expect the batter to be out at first based on where they hit it, but they end up being safe because of a bad throw or a missed catch, that’s scored down as an ‘error’ rather than as a ‘hit’. So technically there weren’t any hits, just a couple of errors, which have nothing to do with the pitcher/aren’t the pitcher’s fault. No one straight up hit the ball.
