Pisces is the water sign of duality. Two fishes swimming in opposite directions but connected by a single thread. Like Virgo, Pisces is about being in service of others, in the greater good kind of sense. We strive for unity because we are aware that the only way our world & we can heal is through love & compassion. This placement is actually more aware than most would think, just likes to act like it doesn't or is at least willing to give the benefit of the doubt, which yeah at times Pisces sun gets betrayed, but other times, people come through with their words & actions. Sun in Pisces does like "getting high", either in a metaphorical sense or literal, but because that sense of ascension or being "somewhere else" serves as a form of escapism for us to utilize when we're either needing a break from the chaos of what really happens in our reality or wanting to access other realms of the subconscious/soul/spirit for answers/guidance. Especially when we are dealing with emotions and vibes given off by other people. Pisces sun is a psychic sponge; it can't help it. According to astronomical/sidereal (13 Zodiac) astrology, I'm a Pisces sun/Capricornus ascendant/Scorpius moon, which describes who I am to a T. Personally, I only follow this particular astrological system & find it to be amazingly accurate, contrary to what Tropical astrology claims.

The thing that I really like about sidereal is that I am an Aquarius Sun in that, rather than Pisces, which feels more accurate. Overall, though, I feel that Tropical is a good indication.

@@chadjcrase my issue with mainstream astrology is that not only does it completely dismisses the fact that Ophiuchus is part of the Zodiac, it also suggests that the names of the Zodiacal constellations and the signs are "not" one in the same (when they, in fact, are). In mainstream astrology, my big 3 is classified as an ♈ sun with an ♒ ascendant and a ♐ moon. There's nothing about it that even describes me accurately. Knew there was something shady with Tropical astrology since I was younger. I knew that I was at least a Pisces sun because of my love for swimming and being near water, not to mention the first book that caught my attention as a kid was a book about the planet Neptune (which is the ruling planet of ♓).

However, I would suggest that we have moved on, (in most ways) very little since the Greeks named these things and so I would not dismiss it so readily. It's somewhat imprecise, as in all human endeavours. I would say, though, don't underestimate Aquarius in terms of Water qualities. It is the 'water carrier', remember. Also, taking things even further, I actually view Aries and Pisces as two sides of the same coin. Pisces is the summation of all the signs, yet Aries is the potential to *be* all of the signs. That's just my opinion.

@@chadjcrase That's an interesting take on Aries and Pisces......I see Aries as The Fool Tarot card: hopeful, a bit naive, and careless, like a child. Pisces would be more like The Fool card reversed: where the seeker has grown through all the knowledge that he accumulated through his journey. That's just how I see it at least. Now as far as Aquarius is concerned, it's called the "water carrier" because it's an air sign (not water).....water doesn't carry itself -- air does that through wind & clouds. Whether others have "moved on" or not, I still don't see Tropical astrology as a reliable, accurate system, and probably never will. It literally bases its calculations on the seasons that takes place here on Earth unlike astronomical astrology, where it determines natal placements by the actual positions of planets and fixed stars in the heavens/space (which is how astrology is supposed to be in the first place). The only real reason why the Babylonians and even Ptolemy didn't include Ophiuchus as part of the Zodiac (even though they knew that the constellation existed all this time) was because of this need to create a cookie cutter system that went with the 12 month calendar. The constellations in reality are not equally 30 degrees apart; they vary in size, with Scorpius being the shortest one of them all since the Sun spends 6 days there (Nov.23rd to Nov.29th) before entering Ophiuchus (Nov. 30th to Dec.17th). Additionally, the planets and Moon also pass through Ophiuchus (or Serpentarius as it was known in the old days of times past). If you were to look at a constellation map app (I recommend SkyMap if you have Android and Star Walk 2 if you have an iPhone), you'd see the "feet" of Ophiuchus touching the Ecliptic as well. Therefore, Ophiuchus is and always has been a Zodiac sign since it meets all the criteria to be considered one to begin with. Ophiuchus is the lone wolf of the Zodiac because it's both the only sign that is ruled by Spirit (Aether) & it shares no polarity with any other Zodiac sign. Moreover, one of the symbols for Ophiuchus is actually the Caduceus (medical staff symbol) along with the Rod of Asclepius....those symbols have always been with us the entire time and it wasn't just because it stood for health and medicine. It served as a permanent reminder of the existence of Ophiuchus energy....constellation Ophiuchus has always been a Zodiac sign the whole entire time, right under all of our noses.

I know this discussion is modified by the Scorpio Moon, but your description of Pisces sounds more like Virgo to me.

So it's interesting, Virgo and Pisces are opposite, but opposite signs tend to actually have some things in common; it's just one central thing they have opposite. For Pisces and Virgo, that opposition is when it comes to standards and how they help. Virgo has very high standards for not only themselves, but also for the people in their life. They tend to be very blunt and even critical of themselves, and the people in their life, if they know they or their loved ones can do better. Whereas Pisces tends to accept everyone just as they are, assumes that everyone is doing the best they can, and can even enable people. And then how they help. Because Virgo is a sign that is all about being of service, so there are some similarities there with Pisces. But I find with Virgo, it's very practical and tangible help. Virgo is the friend that helps you move out of your ex's house when you break up. Pisces is the shoulder to cry on and person to talk to about your feelings after the break. If you lose your job, Pisces will be the one to tell you everything is going to be ok, maybe even offer you money. Virgo is the friend that helps you find a new job.

The subtle difference seems like the biggest difference. I appreciate the insight, opposite signs are very interesting. I guess you must feel the same about Libra, a sign I feel very familiar with.

​@@chadjcrase It’s true though, the seemingly subtle differences in Pisces & Virgo manifest themselves very, very differently. I have Pisces Venus and am Sagittarius dominant, which is square Virgo, so I actually have many years of not jiving with Virgos 😂 I actually find them to be so very different from Pisces, so when you said my Pisces description sounded like Virgo, it took me a minute before I remember that Virgo is about service as well. I had a few more insights because I also find opposites very interesting, and this one kind of got away from me, so if you feel like reading a novel, here you go 😂 I’ll just preface this by saying that these won’t be true for every single Virgo or Pisces, but in general, and in my experience of both signs, they tend to ring true. Virgo is associated with the 6th house, so their service doesn’t always come from the heart like it does with Pisces. 6th House represents work that you have to do, duties and responsibilities that you have to fulfill, that you may not even enjoy. So often Virgo will do things out of obligation and out of this sense of duty, many times because someone else didn’t do it, or didn’t do it to a high enough standard. They believe there’s one way to do things, which is the right way, which is their way. They’re perfectionists, and very critical of themselves and others. And I think this kind of service out of obligation, as well as always feeling like they have to pick up other people's slack, weighs on them and leads to resentment. And that’s what leads to most Virgos I’ve encountered talking shit about everyone, often in order to make themselves feel better, because they are secretly insecure about their own shortcomings. They will even say horribly mean things to someone when it's completely unnecessary, and chock it up to “well I’m just being honest.” You can see someone that you find ugly, and I suppose by telling them that you're being honest, but is it really necessary? What good does that accomplish? If we wanted to represent Virgo and Pisces mindsets and way of life with a career, I think the perfect representation of Virgo is the military. - It’s service for your country. You don’t have to enjoy it. - It’s rigid - There are strict rules and high standards - there’s usually one way to do things, which is how your superior officer told you to do it - If you don’t meet said standards… you will get a strict punishment and at the very least an ear full. You may even be sent packing. - Often mean things are said for no reason -There’s little to no regard for mental health or feelings You could also use the example of a surgeon. It takes dedication, precision, and a special type of person to cut someone open and perform a 12 hour surgery in order to save them. And both of these professions, military and surgeon, require very high standards, and for good reason. Because people die if you don’t. Unfortunately most Virgos I know didn't have work that was nearly this important, so their critical nature just felt uncalled for. Now Pisces on the other hand is far more flowy and heart based . They: - Serve out of this desire from the heart to help - Are much like their element water - have no boundaries, no standards. When other people hurt, they hurt, and they accept everyone. - Won’t say mean things, even it’s to stick up for themselves - Are all about the mind, feelings, and spirituality - often consumed by these things, and want to escape the physical realm If we give Pisces a profession like Virgo, it would be the therapist, or social worker. They want to help heal people’s feelings and mental trauma, which are 12th house topics. But their way of helping can often be all consuming (another 12th house topic) and much like the therapist or social worker, they either burn out, or have to dissociate in order to continue helping.

That does clarify things a lot, but I feel that you have forgotten the dual nature of Pisces - eg how many Pisces do you know that 'swim' against all of the emotion and represent those earthly traits. A denial of themselves I suppose. Anyway, that's for others to decide. I'm not one, but I certainly have seen many of them. Oh I forgot to say - 6th house Sun in my chart! Maybe makes me closer to Virgos in a way. As I mentioned, I feel so much more like an Aquarius rather than Pisces, but I still care about it. And not to disrespect any Virgos, but my overwhelming impression of them is that they are 'normal' - perhaps the most 'normal' of all people and they seem to be everywhere. Anyway, I'm not trying to preempt your videos on Virgos (which already exist I think), but this is a very interesting topic to me. I definitely don't get *high* in ANY way. I really despise anything including drugs, nicotine, alcohol and any other type of addiction. My sun is in the 11th house and is well aspected, my Scorpio moon is in my 6th house and conjunct Pluto -- and is my strongest ruler next to my Taurus ascendant. I am extremely sarcastic, and have dry humor. These stereotypes are extremely typical and honestly, not accurate. At all. I've been studying astrology for 20 years now, and unfortunately, bring the ancient art form that it is, a lot of the "facts" of astrology didn't stand the test of time...leading to a lot of inaccuracies and confusion. As a personal back story, I grew up with a ton of childhood abuse and trauma...and yet...I don't abuse any type of substance and have a very solid footing underneath me, I am able to see the grim reality and complexity of being human .. I think if anything, pisces greatest challenge is to step out of victimhood, and the greatest challenge of Scorpio is to fully understand the intense and deep emotions...and to be more trusting, as well as being ok with transformation. The mind part not only always comes first, but was there before the matter, and will remain long after it [the matter - physical] is gone .........
