I think it will be an Over-killed! 3000 will just be fine and u can use it for bass, pike etc…. I personally don’t like power knobs handle for 4000.

Size 1000 has no anti reverse, I use that feature alot.so this reel is useless to me. I'm sending it back

i own the 4000 and i'm happy with it for fish up to about eight lbs. on larger hard fighting fish like blues the carbon frame starts to flex but will get the job done. its also a sharp looking reel.

@@fernandoskillzexpert7605 in this case, u got a wrong rod. You will need st croix ultra light action rod. I will do x1000 for the rod. Ugly stick it’s not sensitive to feel those tiny bite

Carbon X 1000 is mainly for crappies and the line Capacity is different than carbon X 2000. It depends on what type of fish that you are target for

Thanks for your support Michael! For panfish, x1000 it’s good enough. U can even convert it to ice fishing ( if you have it in your state ) that way also save money.

@@mzadventures2303 Welcome!! How is the function given the fact that the 500/1000 dont have anti-reverse. I've always steered away from reels that didnt have that feature.

@@michaelp.139 I honestly had no issue with that. If you going for panfish, this shouldn’t be any issue. I use x1000 to pull some nice size bass and walleyes hahaha
