Other MCs in Australia and the UK openly gives chefs the recipes on pieces of paper. Maybe they project it somewhere off camera on a screen? It’s insane

Apparently they get the recipes at that time and do a test run. Then a final run that is what they present to the judges. They probably cut the two together to make it more dramatic for the final result, or film just the “final run” for the challenge.

Michael's team strategy sent Cody careening out of the competition until he earned his way back in - there were a few really well executed strategies this season, including Green Team winning the Poutine challenge (by employing Jennifer as a walking advertisement and the team having a dedicated assembly line to the point they RAN OUT OF CHICKEN).

Most of David’s components were very well made, for example the sandwiches, and I think the judges probably took into account their previous victories. This way, I think David deserved it more than Jennifer.

The cast and crew eat them once filming ends. If MasterChef Canada's backstage work is the same as Australia's, the contestants and judges take a break and the food is put into fridges to prevent spoilage. After the judging segment, the dishes are eaten by everyone.
