Solid technique. One thing I'd like to point out is something a student was asking me about just a few days ago, and that is during the reloading process when locking or releasing the slide, the dominant hand is used to actuate the magazine release, and the slide release as well. There is a slight rotation of the gun in the hand when doing this, and getting the gun back into the correct orientation and position is crucial to correct, *CONSISTENT* grip, aim, and follow-through. Everyone's ergonomics are going to be a bit different, but getting that bottom corner of the grip into the heel of the palm, and re-establishing YOUR correct orientation of the gun in your dominant hand, so that when your supportive hand comes back into position, your presentation will be also be completely consistent. One way to check, when building these skills is the establishing land marks, land remembering how those feel, so that one can execute the reloading procedure, (mag in, drive home, release slide) and rotate the gun back into correct alignment, as the supportive hand is moving to re-establish its place. In my case, my secondary is a USP so the magazine release is ambidextrous, and I actuate it with my middle finger. However, on a Glock, as you know, the magazine release is a little button, and for most, the rotation that must take place is pretty significant to reach with the dominant thumb. No doubt this is intentional. Likewise, the slide release requires that rotation as well. Sigs, S&W, FN, 1911 clones, etc, all have slight variations in the ergonomics, and revolvers are a whole different animal. The quick rotation back into operating position obviously becomes instinctive, but it's a VERY important movement that might not seem like much, but adds up. For myself, I reference the position of the take down pin with my index finger. There's a certain spot where when it sits correctly, I can feel the correct exertions of pressure from my middle finger of my dominant hand under the trigger guard pressing the grip into the web the right way, the butt is back in the proper place on my palm heel, it is correctly aligned with my wrist and elbow, and then the gun is ready to receive my supportive hand back in its correct position as well. While learning what this feels like, you can visually double check by tipping the muzzle slightly up to verify that your supportive thumb and dominant index finger are about the same distance forward on the frame, and your supporting index finger has taken up its place on the trigger guard. HK did something very clever to assist in this, and I've not seen it anywhere else: if you look at the bottom of the trigger guard, it flares to actually meet your supporting index finger and afford better purchase. As I said earlier, everyone's ergonomics are slightly different so landmarks will fall in different places, with slightly different landmarks, etc., but learning to recognize them by feel, and not just through visual verification is an essential tool to building a solid foundation. This is another one of those seemingly minor details that will become habit with good practice, and I emphasize *GOOD* practice, but it has to be established and repeated over and over correctly to achieve consistency, so that when it comes time to present after re/un/loading, and/or verifying, sight alignment is dead on, without need for adjustment. Mike, I know you know this stuff as instinct, and watch you do it without having to think about it, as it should be, though I hadn't heard you mention it, and I figured we are all in this together, so I'm hoping this helps anyone who hasn't already got it locked in.

Brother thanks so much. It’s been awhile since 70 when our backup was the 1911. Love that weapon system still have a couple of the P14 1911 from para ordnance. Glock 17 and sig 320 had to work hard to get the memory needed to succeed. When used to constant cocked and locked I don’t always feel as safe with the newer pistols. I was down to VA in Miami and yes this COVID is real. Do I think it was released who cares probably but right now does not help infected or at risk folks. Stay chilly

In case you ever get a chance to read the comments, I wanted to thank you @Mike Glover for this video. I had a chance to try the grip technique you discuss here, particularly the raising of the elbow(s), while shooting at the range yesterday. It was only slow fire, but my groups were better than they ever have been, IMO. Admittedly it was only 10 yards, where I was zeroing my RM04. But even at that range I could tell a difference. So again, thank you.

Now this was a great video to watch. It's to bad I didn't find you when I first bought my gun. I still learned the key elements of the gun now. Keep up the great content you have. One thing I do have to say and don't take this the wrong way or anything. Trust me you have way more years than me on owning a gun. One key thing you might have forgotten was to check the revolvers if it was loaded. I could be wrong since I don't own one if there's a certain way of checking. But for new gun owners showing then how to check those guns in case they plan to buy one down the road. Besides that great video will continue to watch you and learn.
