Caitlin's defense is suspect, so I don't know if she is the greatest WBB player ever, but it's hard to argue she isn't the best offensive player ever. She is not only the NCAA's top scorer, but the only one of the top 25 scoring leaders to also be on the top 25 assists leaders...and she's #4 all time (and will probably end up at #3 by the time she finishes).

To compare Clark to Pistol Pete is insane. Pete was 50 years before his time, and was blackballed by players, coaches, and referees during his time in college and the NBA. Especially the NBA. Yet led the NBA in scoring with 31.1 PPG in 1977. If he played in today's soft, cupcake, no defense, wide open spacing, and the three point line??.... Pistol would be doing stuff we ain't never seen before. With a three point line in college, it was charted by a ex NCAA coach, that he would've averaged 57 PPG. And if you watch his Ultimate College Mix Tape, he was making passes that were impossible, including the "broken wrist pass."

@@ItzJustJP Pistol Pete's problem was that he didn't know how to tow the line between being a ball hog and a leader. It's why the NBA didn't accept him well. He thought he didn't need the other guys on the court.

@@ItzJustJP Maravich was good...but he took 500 more shots in three yearsvthan Clark did in four, shot a lower %, played against virtually all white players since most SEC teams had no black players, had a worse record...I could go on. You translate 500 more shots for Clark at the same shooting % and she breaks Pete's record three weeks ago. Not to mention that people guard Clark 30 feet from the basket because of her ability...people laid off Pete at 30 feet because, frankly, a 30 foot 2 point shot is a bad shot.
