Great video James! When I was a kid I didn't have a ring compressor. I used a hose clamp to compress the rings so I could install the piston on my mini bike engine. Years later I used one again to install the cylinder on my Dad's gas cutoff saw.

I never tried a solid round tapered ring compressor, I have a pliers style similar to yours that I like to use. Good job on getting some I-beam rods, they look really good.

Thank you. Those are what was in the old engine. I also have one of the old style ring compressors that you have a square key to tighten it. It is frustrating to use lol
