I don't blame him for the loss, but I blame him for bad team chemistry. He was always lazy early on in the season, taking "company time" to get surgeries other guys get right after the season ends. I'm not even a Laker's fan. I'm a Pistons fan living in Laker's country so I heard all the drama play out. Kobe has his issues as a player, but he's going to work 24/7/365 and all 48 minutes of every game.

not really they pretty much killed themselves.... the main reason they lost this series was because Kobe didn't want to win the championship if Shaq was the one getting Finals MVP

One of the best teams of all time, unfortunately they didn't cement their legacy by going back2back due to a poor rotation by Sheed in game 5 the following year's Finals :'(. That and drafting (?) Darko and mishandling (?) his development. Wade, Bosh, or even Melo and this is a legendary dynasty...

For whatever it's worth, Karl Malone re-aggravated his knee injury this series. It became bad enough in Game 4 to render him generally ineffective and led to Malone skipping Game 5 altogether. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they had no depth at the power forward position.

My point was the 04 spurs and 04 KG MVP Timberwolves were just as good if not better than those Pistons. Lakers beat both.
